Is het een label? Is het een psychedelische cult? Is het een gesloten netwerk? Nee, Spacejam Records is een initiatief van drummer/producer/geluidsvormgever Marcel van de Vondervoort en boeker/manager Bidi van Drongelen (beiden Astrosoniq) om getalenteerde bands de kans te geven om hun eigen beheer album met de nodige promotie en een gedegen distributienetwerk in de Benelux onder de aandacht te brengen. Het initiatief is tot stand gekomen nadat wij van enkele in onze optiek interessante bands te horen hadden gekregen dat geen enkel label interesse toonde voor hun werk omdat men niet trendy, hip of catchy genoeg zou zijn. Voor ons was dit het signaal om onze stichting in dienst te stellen ter bevordering van goede, eigenzinnige en bovenal tijdloze muziek en daarmee de roep van deze artiesten te beantwoorden. We hopen met Spacejam Records in ieder geval een leemte in het huidige muziekklimaat op te vullen en de liefhebber van de betere gitaarmuziek op zijn/haar wenken te bedienen met hoogwaardige juweeltjes die elders op de plank zijn blijven liggen.

Wie zijn onze potentiële gegadigden:
Hieronder onze 10 geboden
1) Bands met goede eigen opnames die zonder label of distributie zitten, een album willen uitbrengen en de intentie hebben om dat live te vertolken!
2) Bands met voldoende kapitaal voor een eigen beheer release
3) Bands met een eigen smoel
4) Bands die tijdloze muziek als inspiratiebron hebben
5) Bands met goede muzikanten en dus beschikken over voldoende speltechnisch vermogen
6) Bands die wars zijn van trends en zich daar dus niet door laten leiden
7) Bands met passie voor muziek
8) Bands met oog voor de medebands
9) Bands met ballen, lef en doorzettingsvermogen
10)Bands die het bespelen van hun instrument belangrijker vinden dan een bezoek aan de Kinky kapper of plaatselijke H&M.

Enfin, heb je een band of ben je een singer/songwriter die aan deze criteria voldoet dan mag je ons gerust je opnames toesturen voor een verdere beoordeling. We zullen dan altijd per mail laten weten of we interesse hebben in jouw muziek.

Wat leveren wij:
1) Distributie in de Benelux naar de betere platenzaken
2) Promotie in de Benelux
3) Expertise in alle facetten van de muziekindustrie
4) Een gedegen netwerk in de muziekwereld
5) Gunstige prijzen voor persingen en drukwerk


Wat doen wij niet:
1) Voorschotten voor opnames verstrekken
2) Het betalen van persingen van opnames dan wel drukwerk
3) Elke natte scheet beluisteren en beoordelen
4) Gouden bergen beloven
5) Winst maken! (we zijn immers stichting)
