Original members Migg 01 and Benn 9000 formed chill tune duo "The Very" in London circa 2000. A lawsuit from a Scottish band forced a name change to MmmVery.
In 2005 the band relocated to Perth when producer Todd 20-20 wanted in on the band after hearing demo EP "Kids Need Cafe's". Todd brought a new rock edge to the established folktronica sound.
A name change prior to the new line-up's first gig reflected the change in sound. Space Race was born.
Migg was deported in late '05. Mat H1-11 joined the band on Bass in 2007 and 2008 welcomed Stik 8409 on Drums.
Dumb rock. Smart pop. Guitars, beats and electronics. Pop hooks. Rock attitude. Space Race is old-school analogue fun at a new millenium digital party!
Well hello there - it's been a quiet year for the Burgers this year, with only 2 gigs played so far, but sadly, our 3rd gig will be our last for the year. It will be at the Newport in Fremantle, Doors open from 6 -10pm AND It's free entry so having no money is no excuse! Who knows when we will play again!?! So please come down and help us fill that vast empty space that is the Newport Hotel. Hey Ben Yes great to see you if only for a sec! Definitely a spin-out after so long. You've obviously been living at a health farm. The gig went great thanks - the Rocket Room's a fun venue. I was a bit nervous but we rocked it up -just my second show in 14y! How did you go? No gigs booked for us as yet but we're having fun so will definitely pop up later in the year.
