I am Reagan the owner of spanky spanky racing. We have a 1982 earl smith jet boat that weighs about 300 lbs hull only. Our motor is a blown alky 548 chevy big block. We will be running the Top Eliminator (TE) class. TE is a 9 second quarter mile class.
We won the World Finals in Phoenix 2009 in Top Eliminator. I got a wally parks memorial trophy. Also we are Runner Up to High Points Champion in Div 2 for IHBA.
Our next race will be the World Finals in Phoenix. We are currently 2nd in points for division 2 of IHBA (International Hot Boat Assoc). We still have a chance for the number one spot in Nov.
Labor day weekend In Lubbock Tx Thunder in the Canyon. We made it to the Semi Finals and lost by 24 thousands of a second by breaking out. We are 2009 SDBA HIGH POINTS CHAMPIONS to the TOP ELIMINATOR class.
August 1st and 2nd 2009 we win 1st place in Choateau OK in the 9 second TE class after 4 rounds. We also take closest to the dial with a 9.008. Garrett gets runner up in the 10 Second ME class. This was his first win.
July 11 & 12, We finally win in Ft Worth driving the Nut N Up boat and also take the #1 qualifier trophy with a perfect 9.000 et. This one was for Tucker....
August 2&3 2008 Fort Worth Texas. We decided to run Pro Comp Eliminator and We went out the first round with a .17 red light. We did run a 8.37et at 126.4 mph, 3 mph from the SDBA record. We entered in second chance and Won it after 5 rounds and eliminating 21 boats. We also won closest to the dial for the weekend in the PCE class. Garrett (my son) made it to the semi finals in the the Stock Eliminator class (11 Second class) losing with a 11.04.
July 19- 20 In Lake Bryan we got a license for Pro Comp Eliminator (PCE) We ran a 8.53 at 123 mph.
In the TE class we qualified 6th with a 9.06 et. Sunday we had 18 to beat and made it to the Semi finals with 3 of us left and I red lighted against Tim Ortis. Tim Won it against Jeff Gibson in NutnUp.
June 14 & 15 2008 Lubbock Texas (Buffalo Springs lake)race was a tough one. The air and water sucked. On Saturday we qualified 4th with a 9.19 et. Sunday came and we went out the first round. After buying back in we came out on top and won the Second chance race. This was our first win.
At the First 2008 race in Waco we ran a 9.04 and a 9.008 in test and tune. On Saturday the air and water was much better. The first run netted us a 8.66 at 120 mph. That was after we took out a 3 degrees timing. The next pass was a 8.70 after more timing was removed and some blower. We then took out a total of 10% on the blower and ran a 9.02 et for the final qualifying pass for forth place. The event was called after rain Saturday night and so the qualifying passes were used to determine the winners.
April 25-28th 2007. At the first 2007 race in Waco we managed to get the new hat dialed in quickly and were #2 qualifier with a 9.008 on a 9.0 index. We are pretty proud of that. We won the first round on Sunday and went out in the second with a 9.26. We were out of gas and changed types due to availability. This is the only reason we can find that might have made it run slower. I had trouble getting the thing started on the line which made it very difficult to cut a good light. We will be changing to straight alcohol by Brady.
We ran a 8.63 at 123.9 mph in Brady 2007. The alky did the trick. We spent all out qualifying runs trying to slow down. Then we got on Test and Tune and got a 9.03et at 117 mph. 1St elimination on sunday ran a 9.08 against a 9.26 but I screwed up the light and was trailered. We will get the lights back down in Lubbock.....
In 2007 Lubbock's water was totally differant. THICK. We had to kick it up and had it in the 9.0's after qualifying. The first eliminations brought on bad luck as we forgot to turn on the CO2 bottle that controls the bucket. It was trying to close all the way down the track. Hence we ran a 10 something....
The 2007 San Angelo race was great. We made lots of runs trying to get our Pro Eliminator license 8 second (PE). We wound up third in points for the race. Red lighted by .075 in the semi-finals. Tough luck at the home town.
2007 Oklahoma City was cancelled due to crap coming down the river. It was a long drive for nothing. I did get put in the water to hold on the holding rope for a couple hours in the swift current with trees and crap floating like spears down the river. The river authority decided to open the flood gates and did not notify anyone.
