Gifted musical threesome, Sparrow Trio has designed an experience not
likely forgotten. Artists Takana Miyamoto (piano, organ), Ede Wright
(electric guitar) and Chris Burroughs (drums) have taken the aural
experience of Jimi Hendrix to a whole new level. Long-time Hendrix
fans the group decided it was time to honor the legacy of one of the
most powerful musical influences of our time. In their skillful
hands, Hendrix's music is recomposed, rearranged and massaged into an
ecclectic symphony of rock, blues and jazz improvisation. Sparrow

Piano prodigy, Takana Miyamoto has recorded and toured with the
five-time Grammy nominated vocalist, Nnenna Freelon. Takana was the
pianist, arranger and the musical director for Freelon's two-time
Grammy nominated "Soulcall" and "Live at the Kennedy Center" albums.
With Freelon, Takana has performed at the events for/with President
Bush, Aretha Franklin, Bill Cosby, Tony Bennett, George Benson and
others. She continues to record/perform with the top Atlanta artists
such as two-time Grammy nominee Russell Gunn (Hip Hop/ Jazz
Trumpeter), R&B vocalist Dionne Farris (from Arrested Development),
Khari Cabral's Soul Bossa Nova group "Jiva", house music "Ananda
Project", and jazz vocalist, Kevin Mahogany (www.tekana.net)
After moving to Atlanta in 1989, Ede Wright has worked on projects for
many diverse artists, such as Destiny's Child, Mya, Ceelo, India Arie,
Gumbi Ortiz, K.D. Lang, David Sanborn, Euge Groove, P'taah, Anne
Nesbee, Kaya, Bebl Gilberto, and Everything But the Girl. Ede has also
worked as a sideman touring with jazz vocalist Lizz Wright,
experimental electronic group Ananda Project, and Grammy nominated

Versatile stickman and percussion educator, Chris Burroughs founded
Sparrow Trio with Ede Wright on electric guitar, and Takana Miyamoto
on piano. Throughout the course if his 15-year musical career,
Burroughs has worked with talented artists like Miguel Romero,
Augustine Diaz, Lizz Wright, Russell Gunn, Julie Dexter, Ede Wright, Kebbi Williams
and Takana Miyamoto among others.
