About Spartacus

Oxnard based Alt-rock group SPARTACUS was formed in early 2001 when Kris and Sean Simeon decided to devote their lives to music. Their early influences included the Beatles, Incubus, Thursday, and local ventura county bands such as The Return. Heavily influenced by both modern rock, ska and popular regaae traditions, SPARTACUS is a soulful mix of jazzy bass lines, experimental rock-regaae beats, and explosive guitar riffs.

Fronted by Kris Simeon on vocals/guitar and backed by the powerfully energetic Sean Simeon on drums, Spartacus was later joined by Marquis Douglas in May 2008. With Douglas' dancing bass lines the trio was complete.

Spartacus' first full length album "Surfing with Tuxedos" was released in 2007. Their latest album Ninjanuity was released late summer of 2009.
