travelling, whenever and wherever possible.
contributing wherever i can to the success of yearlongday.
cardmaking and rubber stamping, and shopping for supplies.
singing loudly in the shower, and in the car, and in public, and pretty much anywhere. not easily embarassed.
Music
lots of stuff. in my car at the moment: julian cope, my bloody valentine, pixies, air, guster, ben folds, elo, depeche mode, maximo park
Movies
let's try the actors instead, shall we?
Kevin Spacey
Philip Seymour Hoffman
Alan Rickman
John Turturro
Paul Dano
Sean Penn
Macaulay Culkin (yes, really)
Nathan Fillion
Juliette Binoche
Judi Dench
Zooey Deschanel
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Robin Wright Penn
Parker Posey
Frances McDormand
that's my well-rounded list - at least of the ones who stand out in my mind. :)
Television
Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, ReBoot, What's Happenin'? and reruns of old shows that are equally silly and wonderful. i do, however, enjoy me some CSI and Scrubs, as well as the Spongebob Squarepants.
Books
authors: clive barker, nick hornby, douglas coupland, jonathan saffran-foer, william gibson, philip k. dick, and anyone who doesn't write for everyone. meaning i like it if it's edgy and different. my taste in literature is similar to my taste in film. just finished reading The Gum Thief by Douglas Coupland and it was wonderful. must pick up the new Nick Hornby book, "Slam" as i've loved everything else of his.
hmmm. i just noticed there are no female authors in my list.
Heroes
my Gram.
i miss her dreadfully, but she is with me everywhere i go, and in everything i do. <3 may she rest in peace.
i am just me.
happy to be called "friend" to people who matter so very much.
slightly artsy and absolutely film snobby.
the little part of yearlongday.
daring with fashion and genius with accessorizing.
restless and easily bored.
a little bit lonely.
grammar nazi and reigning Scrabble champion.
diggin' heavily on cardmaking and rubber stamping.
Who I'd like to meet: you, maybe.
more yearlongday fans!
a fellow local film buff, with whom i can see indie and arthouse flicks.
a workout buddy.
a worthy Scrabble opponent.
someone who appreciates the beauty of the coffeehouse as much as i do (even if i drink chai more than coffee).
ya gotta love music.
chickens and badgers, alike.
Hey Leah!!! Thx for the add - it was GREAT to play with you guys too, I really really enjoyed your set - you have a great sound! I sure hope we can share a stage again soon too!! :]
Hey thanks! The artwork on my page is all my brother's. check out his site www.diventiart.com You guys sound great too. Good luck on the 26th. I cant make it I'll be away on vacation. Have fun though. Rock on!
our new album, "best excuses", has been uploaded on www.yearlongday.com. thank you for patiently waiting to hear it, and stay tuned for the official cd release!
Good to hear from you. I hope I can catch the band live before too long. Believe it or not, I am one of those people who has returned numerous times to your site to hear your music. Waterloo Sunset was always one of my Kinks favorites (I first saw the Kinks live when I was in high school and they were playing at the Tower Theater, classic!)
Last night went well considering the weather. Get Happy Pub has a lot of charm & potential, and the owners are very enthusiastic about helping us to make it all work. I should also mention that your buddy Jacob Graff & his daughter Rachel came out to Downey's last Monday. Thanks for introducing us.
stay in touch Dave Simons
PS. Hawaii was great. Avoiding two weeks of winter & spending it in a Hawaiian tropical paradise is the way to go -- I whole heartedly recommend it. I love it there.
Hey honey. I'm sorry I missed your wedding. I don't know if you read my lj post about that or not??? I hope that everything is starting to calm down for you. If you need anything at all feel free to call me. I hope to see you soon, miss you, love you. XOXO.
