This is the Official Page For Canadian Smashing Pumpkins Fans. We are dedicated to bringing together Smashing Pumpkins fans from all over the Great White North, from Vancouver to Halifax, from Whitehorse to St. John's and beyond. We will be helping organize fan gatherings and promoting The Smashing Pumpkins across our great country. To set the record straight, this page is not run by The Smashing Pumpkins or their management/promoters,etc. However, we are officially recognized among other regional fan pages across the world in a special directory on SP's myspace page. That's why we have 'official' in our title :).

The Smashing Pumpkins have recently finished up the 2nd of leg of their tour in North America after playing a series of dates in Europe. Currently they have not announced any further dates in North America, but we will keep you posted. They are set to go on the 3rd leg of their tour with a return to Europe in late January. There is also rumors of SP playing some of the Australian V-Fest dates in the spring.

According to The Pumpkin Queen (SP official webmistress): "the band is talking about creating special merch for groups as well as possible meet and greets etc. when they come through your city. I'll come out to do some meet ups with exclusive info. from the band before touring starts.....and I believe BC plans on naming each individual group. :)"
Interested in becoming a team leader for a city not already taken? Read below:
A city team leader is responsible for organizing fan meetups in their area. Meetups can take many forms, such as casually meeting at a pub or restaraunt or park, or doing things like a coffee house/open mic nights, movie nights, etc. When you have set day and time for a meetup, we will help you by sending out an event invite from the Canadian SP fans page to as many people as we can find from your area.
Team leaders are also responsible organizing street team activities such as flyering , as well as rallying them to call into a local radio station to request SP.
Attention all team leaders: A good starting point and a great way to get involved is to drop off/post flyers promoting this page at independent cd shops in your city. Please download and print this flyer,

Also, we invite you to join our message board, which is currently primarily used for SP fan website, Landslide and our SP fan project, Act IV but we would like to broaden its scope. At the boards, we can discuss more in depth strategies for promoting SP and discussing the fan meet-ups.
Who I'd like to meet: PLEASE be a CANADIAN and genuninely interested in The Smashing Pumpkins. In other words, a Canadian Smashing Pumpkins fan ;). We are willing to make exceptions on the geography point, such as if you live relatively close the US/Canadian border, or you have strong ties in Canada. Also, all the SP fan regional pages from around the globe can add us as well. But if you are from a border state, please send a message to us explaining your friend request!
If you feel you have another compelling reason why we should add you, email us, and saying 'because Canada rocks' doesn't really count :P. Otherwise, please make it clear on your profile that you have some roots in Canada and like SP. If you are already on our list, and you feel you don't meet this criteria, don't worry, we will not delete you.

Hey salut, ouais je suis partit de Québec, j'ai fini mes études pis je me suis trouvé une job dans mon domaine dans le coin d'ou ce que je viens. C'est de valeur j'aurais ben aimé sa te rencontrer cet été sa aurait été cool.
Ouais le monde qui aime les pumpkins au Québec sont mal moins nombreux que ce que j'aurais pu croire. J'ai pas rencontré de fan à Québec en trois ans. Cependant, en y pensant comme il faut sa me surprend plus ou moins. Quand je suis aller les voir à Osheaga en septembre dernier j'ai parlé à pas mal de monde avant que le show commence pis pratiquement personne avait écouté Zeitgeist encore feck sa donne une idée..
Entk y a au moins moi pis toi qui écoute du bon beat..hehe..ben content d'avoir de tes nouvelles..tu m'en redonneras si jamais tu t'en viens à Québec cet été. Seeya !

Some guy on the internet made 2 package of songs from the residencies which contains Superchrist, Gossamer, The Rose March, etc. The songs are live. I think it was a great idea and i tought it would also be a good idea to give you the links of these :

Wow, I just came back from Montreal to see the pumpkins last night and all I can say is that the people in Toronto today that are gonna do the same thing won't get bored at all. The show was just amazing and there is just no there words to describe it. They're playing a new heavy version of the glass and the ghost children that i've never heard before, it was cool. Out of that my highlights of the night goes to United states (they open with it), Bullet with butterfly wings, Today (they did the encore with it) and 1979 (Billy solo accoustic).
