    In 2005 three talented and inspired university students came together through their deep appreciation for all types of music as well as a need to create an outlet for their ultra-original hard rock style. Through the following years the band, who came to be known as SpeakEasy, has developed a good reputation and a solid fan base in the Ottawa area, known for their high energy shows in venues and house parties alike. The SpeakEasy style blends influences of hard rock, funk, reggae, jazz and ska to form a fresh sound which is constantly being redefined. The three members work hard and endlessly push themselves to develop and mature in terms of both their playing and creativity when it comes to writing original music. The three have recently recorded their second EP ('Revisions') which was recorded and produced mostly in their own basement with the help of veteran musician/producer Steve McKenna. SpeakEasy is a relentless group of young musicians who strive to spread their music out as far as possible as well as to produce a style of music which they can be proud of, and believe to be unique and original even when compared to some of the industry's top bands.
