   About SPEAKEASY JAZZ
Hi. I'm Bradley Scott Tharp. I lead The SPEAKEASY JAZZ ORCHESTRA. I'm a vocalist and I play "scream" trumpet. I also happen to own SPEAKEASY. I learned to play by listening to Maynard Ferguson albums. Most other big bands (around Louisville) don't have charts that allow me to explore the stratosphere as much as I'd like, so I started our own eighteen piece in-house jazz orchestra. We play the six major ballroom dance styles, the music of Maynard Ferguson, as well as some of the best Vegas-era crooning standards. We perform EVERY WEDNESDAY at 8pm. It's always best to make reservations for the show @ 812-981-0981 or 1-866-498 JAZZ. Photobucket My wife, Lori, and I are more subtle when we're playing dinner music. We're the typical martini bar lounge-lizards. Lori has established quite a following and can be heard on Thursdays and Saturdays. On a playful note, I'm also using this MySpace site to feature ME! Recently, I've been recording some original arrangements in a "Chase" (Bill Chase) format. So far, it's me playing every instrument (gotta love the mutitrack!). But, who knows - my alter-ego may eventually take the stage at SPEAKEASY. ..

There....I added ya! I need your frickin' cell number. I've tried calling the club...left a message...nothing. I'm thinking of selling my horn and figured you might know an interested party. It's a 1946 Buescher Top Hat and Cane Tenor. Also, I'd like to come down and check the place out but I never know when you're gonna be there. CALL ME!!!! Take care and hope Lori is good. Need any plumbing done let me know.

Your site and yo' chops are killin, sounding great! I love to see guys explore this exciting aspect of trumpet playing, I do the same with my big band, and of course with a big band, you have all kinds of soloists to give a lot of flavors, but those high notes at the right time are truly exciting, lol... Great chops, nice site and I bet it is a fun hang at your club.

Sincerely,

Rich Wetzel

Despite the fact that you didn't ask, here's some great advice for being an extra in a court/wedding movie; wear a fake beard and get paid twice.

That's what I did.

Oh, by the way....what does it mean when my farts smell of cardboard and sulpher? Oh yeah....it means we need to get together and get a bit sideways....or it could mean I ate too many matches.
