LAST TO DIE is a band from Fresno, CA. combining metal, hardcore, and progressive genres. Each song compares to a theme park with many different physical and emotional roller coasters. LAST TO DIE has hit the unsigned DIY approach hard. The band has produced and pressed its own 10 song album, “Table of Deceit” engineered by Peter Wolf at Wolfsound Audio Engineering in California. LAST TO DIE is nailing down a solid fan base in California by touring and recently servicing 64 California mainstream, specialty, and college radio stations. LAST TO DIE features former original singer Curtis Shamlin from gothic metal/hardcore band GRYP (W-Records/Walden Media) and former members of SPEAKERS FOR THE DEAD (Magna Carta Records/Ryko Distribution/Warner Music Group). GRYP had several 1 singles on national and international radio, got spins on over 250 radio stations world-wide, at one time ranked 2 on Mp3.com's overall music chart, chosen by Metal Edge as 1 of the top 30 bands to look out for in 2002, music played on MTV's Road Rules, toured the U.S. for over 6 years, sold over 25,000 albums as an indie before the band got signed, and much more. After GRYP’s record label folded in 2002 and its $300,000 unreleased mainstream debut album subsequently tucked away in Walden Media’s catalog, Curtis and GRYP guitarist Jason Garcia started Speakers for the Dead which released their self-produced full length debut album "Prey for Murder," in May 2006 through Magna Carta Records. The band’s single "No Wrong," was added to over 100 radio stations in the U.S. by Skateboard Marketing (Rammstein, Atreyu, Seputura, Soil, etc.), the self produced music video for “No Wrong” was released by Rive Video (Nickelback, Slipknot, Fall Out Boy) airing on over 35 video stations across the country. Speakers for the Dead toured the country several times and was in publications of Outburn, AP, Revolver, and Guitar World. After guitarist Jason Garcia’s death from a yearlong battle with cancer, and after the addition of drummer Josh Swanbom, LAST TO DIE was formed in 2009. The band is poised to make a nice dent in the music industry and with your help in spreading the word; the world will also come to know LAST TO DIE!
