Welcome and thanks for visiting. This site is dedicated to the music and art projects of the musical group Speaking Gaiwiio. Speaking Gaiwiio was founded during 2004 in Clarion, Pennsylvania.
Members of Speaking Gaiwiio have come from throughout the state of Pennsylvania, New York and into Ohio. Other participants come from as far away as Uganda, China and Hawaii. A number of the relationships started during time spent in Clarion, PA at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Others stem back to the onset of middle school.
Currently the group is busy recording their debut album Transcending Borders. Definative release date still remains uncertain, yet much progress is being made. Demos are now available. These were duplicated by Frank Singer at First Art Records. The first session took place on November 8th 2006 at Midtown Recording Studios, Erie, PA.Once complete the band will return to playing shows.
The word Gaiwiio come from the Iroquois language of the Seneca Indian Tribe. It translates as "the Good Word." Therefore, the title Speaking Gaiwiio means "Speaking the Good Word." This is something done not only through words, but also through actions and music.
