Perennial faves: EF Benson's Mapp & Lucia books. Terry Pratchett. John Le Carre. Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond series.
I'm the author of the Jani Kilian series: CODE OF CONDUCT (1999), RULES OF CONFLICT (2000), LAW OF SURVIVAL (2001), and CONTACT IMMINENT (2003). The fifth and, most likely, final book in the series, ENDGAME, will be released November 2007 by Eos/Harpercollins.
In addition, a Jani Kilian novelette entitled "Incident on a Small Colony" is in the December issue of Baen's UNIVERSE online magazine.
I'm also edging into urban fantasy/dark fantasy/science fantasy. We'll see how that goes.

The covers of the first four Jani books, as seen in the slideshow, were done by Jean Pierre Targete. The cover for ENDGAME, which isn't completed yet, was done by Chris McGrath. But for a few tweaks and such, this is pretty much it. I can't wait to see the finished cover.
