I have been somehow involved in and around music for almost as long as the digital dance scene has been going, starting out in an essex nightclub called 'THE BERWICK MANOR' as the FIRST RESIDENT M.C. in 1989.. I went out to TENERIFE in 91 where i had numerous dj/mc residencies along the varonicas strip.. BOBBYS BAR - HACIENDER 2 - BANNANAS were the main three i worked... if you were there.. BIG UP!! Came back same year, where i got linked with SUBURBAN BASE RECORDS in the early 90s as the label M.C. (using my current name) I travelled the U.K. and America as the front man for several acts on the label giving live stage performances with acts such as.. SONZ OF A LOOP DA LOOP ERA - RACHEL WALLACE (now backing singer for THE STEREO M.C.s)- Q-BASS - DJ KROME and a few more too!! if you have any old suburban base vinyl, you will see me up there with the cru in the photo releases!!...At this time, myself and an accociate formed a short lived act, named 'THE LICKBACK ORGANIZATION' which made a jungle dancefloor smasher called 'MANIC MUSIC' (the V.I.P. MIX was a HUGE TREND SETTING HIT at the long gone, but not forgotten PARADISE CLUB in Londons islington in the mid 90s) After that i took a notable break from music and made a person, who is now my 14 year old son.. I came back in 2001 as a producor/vocalist with NIGHTBREED who achieved chart success in 2004 With the D&B/rock fusion PACK OF WOLVES which came out on ANDY Cs RAM RECORDS. After finding no happiness within the group situation, i decied it was time for me to go it alone..... Since then i have had a twelve out on D.J. ZINCs label BINGO BEATS being, SYNTHESIS/ROADKILL, and another on ANDY Cs FREQUENCY LABEL being, THE CRADLE/DREAMING YOU (LOVED BY DJ MARKY).... Iv been on the breakbeat tip for a while with two freinds, DJ ANYA and DOM ALMOND both hailing from the midlands.. We now roll under the name 'A DOMINANT SPECIES' and have had various tracks out on various labels... most of which never payed properly... if atall!!!.. c**ts the lot of 'em!!! (exept the decent peeps who paid us!) Now, in 2010 there is STFU RECORDS which is a fledgling right now.. BUT, a SAFE, LOYAL, NON BULLSHITTING wing to be under!!!! and for those of you who dont know... THAT COUNTS FOR ALOT IN THIS GAME!!!! I was bought up on roots reggae and old skool r&b as a kid.Labels such as,Trojan and Greensleeves were favorites of my mums..Was very much into the prince thing in my early teens,until dance as we then knew it came along..Acid music came along in 88..From that point,i was in... As far as my personal ventures in the studio,its been dancefloor all the way!!In the early years i had some great producers around me,such as austin reynolds,mikey james,danny breaks(Dropping sience)all then under the Suburban Base wing..for the past few years i have been rolling with Andy C at the weekends... How many people would want to do that in the world i ask!!??..you may have seen me?? if u have, or know me.. big up!! During this time ive had the benifit of people like Andy,Shimon,Geoff and Spa of moving fusion fame and ant miles around me,so i guess its fair to say those guys definately influenced me in the mid 2000s... 2010 sees the launch of STFU RECORDS, of which i am a core member. April 2010 is the shedualed date for the labels first release, which is 'RUN AND HIDE' by 'A DOMINANT SPECIES'..
