About me:

I'm Ed, I'm 29 years old and I'm a Drum & Bass DJ, promoter & producer. I run Glasgow & Dundee based drum & bass night PANGEA along with my mates Professa Fresh, Jzy, Jekt, & MC Troubla. We're 5 years in the game this year, running a monthly night at The Reading Rooms in Dundee, and another monthly night at The Art School in Glasgow, where we're joined by resident MC AC. The night has built a reputation for packed dancefloors and good vibes, which is exactly what we like!

I've been DJing for about 6 years now, and aside from PANGEA previous gigs have included XPLICIT, OBSCENE, AFFILIATE, SPLIT, ONE TOKE OVER THE LINE and SEQUENTIAL in Edinburgh, DILATE in Stirling, CONCRETE STREETS in Dundee, the St Andrews nuclear bunker parties (from back in the day!), the PRVYMAJ festival in Slovakia, OUT OF CONTROL also in Slovakia (.SK for life man!), and various radio shows and outdoor parties across Scotland - with support slots including BARON, MOVING FUSION, THE PANACEA, and SIMON "BASSLINE" SMITH.

I'm a punk rocker at heart, having grown up on the punk scene in Birmingham, and I've played in punk bands almost constantly since I was 16. Previous bands have included Hummer & Cop Sox in Birmingham, and Dud-Load in Scotland, with support slots including Link 80, CapDown, Diesel Boy, Vanilla Pod, Howards Alias and Long Beach Dub Allstars to name but a few. I currently play guitar in a crossover punk/d'n'b band called COT DEATH, check us out in my Top Friends - demolishing a stage near you soon!!! ;-)

A grant from the Government got me my own record label - Special Records - and in 2007, Cot Death's "Digital Cacophony of Global Decay EP" was my first release. Now in 2009 a new release from THE INFEKTED aka Prof Fresh of PANGEA, has hit the shops, and there's plenty more heavy slices of d&b to come later in the year!

I'm getting properly into production now, and my last couple of tunes have been getting some airplay on Vic Galloway's "BBC Introducing" show on Radio 1, and finally they're getting picked up and played out by a couple of other DJs! In the real world I work for a brewery, so I like to think I'm playing a small part in making that beer you're drinking happen! And I get lots of free booze too so I can't complain.

    The beast that is Pangea returns in September, for the next installment from Glasgow's biggest drum and bass night. A favourite among both drum and bass heads and those who just want a party, Pangea has been tearing up dancefloors in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee for 5 years. With a highly respected resident crew that has played alongside many of the leading lights in DNB and the best choice of guest dj's and mc's from the Scottish scene, Pangea continues to keep the people dancing, rinsing out sound systems but not your bank balance.

    For our 5th birthday celebration we are joined by two of Scotland's premier DJ's: Dave Lowe and D-Fade. Both are residents at Edinburgh's mighty Split, and regularly play at other nights such as Symbiosis, Obscene and their new venture Touchbass. Two of the most technically gifted drum and bass dj's around, their dancefloor friendly selection is guaranteed to be a perfect soundtrack for the birthday bonanza.
