About me:
Speech Therapy: A History

Established in November 2005, Speech Therapy aims to publish poetry that will promote the talents of new and established writers from the North of Ireland. It iss envisoned that the magazine be used as a platform for writers to allow their work to reach the wider audience that it merits. Speech Therapy seeks poetry that is clear in its purpose and non-abstract in meaning; poetry that has been formed from all walks of life; poetry that projects a voice. Welcoming poetry from people just starting on their pathway to becoming published poets, I felt that it is important to provide a platform of expression to emerging talent, as well as concentrating on displaying unique and powerful poetry. Therefore, we welcome first time writers as well as more experienced poets.

It doesn''t matter to us if you had won a major award, or had been recently published elsewhere. We only care about giving a voice to top quality poetry, work that will be appreciated by our readers. If it's clever, unique, emotive and evoking, we want to publish it!

After four issues of fine writing, Speech Therapy went on now hiatus. But BREAKING NEWS- we have now reopened, and are gearing towards a new issue1 See our blog for more details.

Regards, Colin Dardis Editor.

When looking for the best products that today's therapists were working with, Therapy Times decided to ask the experts: You. We polled our readers to get an idea of the tools, equipment, services, or accessories that they consider integral to their success, and what products were crucial to enhancing the integrity of the entire therapy field. From your responses, we have compiled a list of products – our Most Valuable Products – that have had the greatest influence on today's therapy profession. We've gathered the nominees and now the polls are now open to you.

All the same

I see things different
doesn’t mean I’ am
better than other people
might even be worse.

If I’ am different than them
they’re not the same as me
meaning everybody is different
and that makes us all the same.

This is what I like most about MySpace, whereas we are able to share our music with others and by-pass a host of vultures that are unappreciative of the art but anxiously eyeing a prize that the art will provide, at the cost of...well...I guess that's those who buy music.

"The Page Screams Out" is a new track that I available have for FREE download and distribution.

FOURTEEN SHOWS, SIX POETS, ONE VAN…
… YES, IT’S GENERATION TXT

Following the success of acclaimed new poetry anthology Generation Txt, penned in the margins is taking the six gifted young poets featured in the book on a national tour to fourteen venues. Hand-picked from a nationwide search for writing talent, the poets include former Northern Young Writer of the Year Emma McGordon and celebrated performance poet Inua Ellams, as well as Joe Dunthorne, whose debut novel Submarine has just been snapped up by Hamish Hamilton. Natural Sciences graduate Laura Forman, creative writing student Abigail Oborne and experimental poet and text artist James Wilkes complete the bill.

Hailed by distinguished poet and critic Roddy Lumsden as 'a vital cross-section of the poetry that will progress and flourish' and by the TES as 'a creative ideas manual', the Generation Txt tour will be a must-see event for anyone interested in the future of literature.

'City Smells' is a new literary project set up by the Edit Red Writing Community.

We are running three writing competitions, Flash Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry, all with the theme 'City Smells. The winners of each of these competitions will win $100. But more than this, we will take the best work from each competition and compile a paperback 'City Smells' anthology. The writers who make it into the 'City Smells' anthology will each receive free copies of the book and be paid a royalty in book sales.

To submit to these competition and stand a chance of being published in the 'City Smells' book you must be a member of Edit Red, as the submission process is automated. Joining Edit Red and entering these competitions is 100% free. If you make it into the book, we will pay royalties based on book sales.

Edit Red has existed for many years and was created and is still managed today by non-fiction author Alan Emmins, creative writing teacher Chris Lee Ramsden and literary reviewer Sean Merrigan.

If you are not already a member, we hope you will join and take part in this great literary event. Sign up here for free!

Regards
Alan, Sean and Chris
