LOST AND FOUND is a band (albeit a small band of just two people) that has been travelling around the world and performing their original music since they were in high school (or skipping it) together. They started out travelling by bicycles (riding 8,500 miles around the USA one year) and playing wherever they were welcomed. Often, they were welcomed at churches, camps, colleges and schools. And so, these are the kinds of places they still perform.
Their music is a blend of punk and folk: it is the people's music. It's organic, energetic, creative, simple, catchy and unique. Their lyrics are friendly, insightful, encouraging, hopeful and questioning. Their work is informed by their faith--but it would be incorrect, even unfair, to label them a "Christian Band." That is, this label, which some have tried to attach to LOST AND FOUND, is far too limiting and it conjures up certain images--both positive and negative--among the uninformed, those who might be inclined to jump to conclusions before they get to know LOST AND FOUND.
They are one of the most uniqe bands touring today in any genre of music. They perform about 150 days a year while steadfastly avoiding the musical-industrial complex and the industry in general. They guard their independence and view it as a good thing not to be encumbered by a major record label. So, you won't hear them on the radio or find their CDs at Wal-Mart or Target. But you can find them on iTunes and CD Baby. Or, even better, come and see them in concert and then consider how you would describe them.
you guys were awesome at SPEC and I loved what you had to say when you came to our class the last morning you were there. it really caught my attention. =]
I saw you guys in Gatlinburg, TN. at Resurrection 2000(?) It was a long time ago and I've seen twice since then, but you have got to come to Florence, Alabama sometime! Please?
I've just read that you're coming to my hometown Saginaw, Michigan and I'm beyond excited! I hope you're both doing well I'll be counting down the days!
You guys need to make a trip out to Kitsap Penninsula in WA. We just got our orders and we are getting transferred there in August. Our first Cross Country trip. It would be nice to see you guys play again.
All my friends who went to Youth Quest in years past liked you guys and I didn't realize what I the hype was about till I saw you myself this year. Keep doing what you do, I'm certain it's in God's plan for you.
you guys were incredible at youth quest! I really wish i could have gotten to come to your seminar but by the time i realized you had one it was to late to go to it (you guys sold out pretty quick) i'm going to make sure our youth pastor brings our youth group to your next Ohio concert can't wait until then
lost and found... when i was about 12 my brother found you at a church loved your music and passed it on to me. i loved all of your lyrics and couldn't help but sing them all the time. we actually had to find another cd because i wore the first one out!! they gave me a different view of life and the world around me.i can truly say i look at the people i meet day to day in a completely different view that i think i would have with out your music. at such a young age i was given something most people some times never find. i thank you for that. a friend of mine came to me last week singing half the lyrics to baby. it brought me back and i had to look you guys up and let you know how much of an impact you made on my life that will last for ever. my daughter is 6 and has been listening to your music all week she loves it too! thanks for singing from the heart and staying true. with love andrea
Hi Michael & George. Your package arrived on Wednesday - thanks so much for sending it. Are there any other Lutheran artists/bands from the States that you can recommend to me (apart from Jonathan Rundman with whom i've been in contact)? Regards to you in Jesus. Frank
