"SpekrFreks combine dirty beats with raw and hypnotizing vocal hooks to create a sound that is distinctly their own." Bugeyed Records-2005
Spekrfreks consists of two individuals, Edwin Jesus and Bryan Phillip, two young DJ/Producers from the Golden Gates of the US West Coast. They have collectively been working on dance music for more than five years now. Both coming from extensive musical backgrounds in theatre, production, and classical piano training, they also noticed a common interest in 80's and 90's pop culture and modern electronic dance music.
Their BugEyed Records debut “MindGames” features the original devastator plus mixes by GenderFix and Rick V. The record entered the Beatport new release chart at 1, achieved a top 20 Balance Pool charting and found UK support from Adam Sky and Mark Moore.
Their sophomore effort was a 6-tracker called the "Attraction EP" that has been released to Beatport with a remix of “Attraction” by Blendbrank that is catching a lot of attention. Since then they have released a number of remixes for Eden Recordings, BugEyed Records and Purchase Musik.
Spekrfreks started as resident DJ’s for Kuma SF in downtown San Francisco with monthly sets at their Basket parties. They recently have been seen spinning in Las Vegas as well as providing runway music at the world renowned San Francisco Fashion Week.
