MeLisa and the boys derived their sound from a wide range of influences from Madonna and Paul Oakenfold to Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Heart and Van Halen.
Sounds Like
We get that we sound like "No Doubt" a lot, but MeLisa thinks that only has to do with her blonde hair. We're not industrial, but not bubble gum pop either. We've labeled our sound "Rockno".
"Spektral Motion" refers to a spirit of motion, which carries over from their sound to their live performance. Over the past 7 years the band has performed as a 3 piece with MéLisa Lomelino singing, Travis Krouse on guitar, and Ryun Hovind on bass guitar. Staying true to the dance genre, beats & keys are pumped out electronically and MéLisa uses onstage vocal effects. SpekMo's aggressive performance is a double shot of espresso, with MéLisa revving up the crowd by dancing nonstop and the boys rocking hard with their guitars. The Vidette reviewed a recent performance saying, "The band gave their audience what they've come to expect... an extreme experience." The band is currently recording their sophomore album.
SpekMo's song "Get Up And Go" was recently heard on MTV's dating show NEXT.
Have a wonderful
Christmas and New Year!
