Soundspell recieved attention earlier this year when a song from their debut album, "An Ode To The Umbrella", won First Place in the Teen Category of the International Songwriting Competition 2007.
The band's sound is often described as bittersweet and melodic with a lot of British and Icelandic influences, but the band claims it is more open to experimenting with musical directions now after a recent switch of members in the spring of 2008.
There's an interesting mixture of music to be found in their new material, such as electronica, indie, jazz, classical, funk, trip-hop and post-rock influences. They're reinventing themselves with each song while holding onto their foundation. Band members are 17 and 18 years old.

Hi Soundspell, Its been a while and we thought it was about time we updated you on what we've been up to. Our debut EP Little World is now available at our gigs and will soon be available from our myspace and facebook pages, you will also be able to download it from itunes, but we don't have a release date for this as yet. To celebrate the fact that we have now reached 25,000 plays on myspace, we are giving you a free MP3 of Rockabye Baby.
