About SOUNDSPELL

Soundspell recieved attention earlier this year when a song from their debut album, "An Ode To The Umbrella", won First Place in the Teen Category of the International Songwriting Competition 2007. The band's sound is often described as bittersweet and melodic with a lot of British and Icelandic influences, but the band claims it is more open to experimenting with musical directions now after a recent switch of members in the spring of 2008. There's an interesting mixture of music to be found in their new material, such as electronica, indie, jazz, classical, funk, trip-hop and post-rock influences. They're reinventing themselves with each song while holding onto their foundation.
