  • Bio

We WERE a San Diego rock band named SPERO LUMINA, performing and releasing albums for the past 12 years. We were independently releasing our biggest album yet, Stained Glass Maze, when tragically, our lead singer and beloved friend Aaron Gabriel Rowan passed away from a genetically pre-disposed condition that also took the life of his younger brother, his father, and aunt. We hope to honor Aaron by sharing his story, our story and the music left behind. Recently on September 19th, we officially released the final album as Aaron finished all his tracks in the studio just weeks before his death. Our greatest desire is to give people the chance to be exposed to our story and this album as we put every last bit of ourselves into writing it for many years. We would be forever grateful if you were to consider helping us make that possible in any way. Enter a collision of stylized soaring vocals, aggressive effect-laden guitars, and thick daunting bass all being commanded by colossal, intricate percussion. Combine these audible elements with an eternal lyrical message, a question, a longing, a desire, a confession, and youve opened up the striking and vulnerable book that is Spero Lumina. San Diego-based Alternative/Progressive Rock band Spero Lumina took its first shape in March of 1999 and from the beginning, the bands main goal has been to provoke and move people to hope with their music. Over the years Spero Lumina has solidified their sound and direction and built a solid following in their hometown of San Diego with each mesmerizing live performance. With countless shows under their belt, Spero Lumina is currently writing and preparing for a 5th recording with acclaimed engineer Jeff Forest of Doubletime Studios. Also on the horizon are plans to start a new campaign of global buzz through online/offline methods and live performance all across Southern California and beyond to promote the new release.
