In 2004, Spice Band was formed as a 9-pc band with a 3-pc horn section aiming to relive the funky sound of the retro years. The band brought this sound to its 3-month stint in China in the early 2005. Later that year, the band was cut down to 6 pcs. and had a 6-month stint in Singapore where they played a totally different genre of music: rock, power ballads, reggae and top 40s. In 2006 up to the early 2007, Spice Band had an 8-month stint in Vietnam where they played mostly Latin and funk music with 2 additional members, a percussionist and saxophonist. At present, the band is in its 7-pc form, still playing a variety of songs. The evolution of the band and its repertoire is a manifestation of the band's objective of catering to all types of audience and culture. There is no limit to the band's music where its audience is concerned. Spice Band's objective is to entertain people with its music.

The band has 3 vocalists. BALDO, the male vocalist, came from different bands namely: XLNT, LOC, ROB, Art 6, to name a few. Baldo already had 3 solo albums, one of which was under Harmony Records in 2002. He's also the 2004 Birit King Grand Champion of Eat Bulaga (a singing contest in a popular noontime TV show in the Philippines). JAY JAVIER is one of the band's female vocalist. She also came from different bands such as XLNT, Rubberband and Q&A. She used to be a solo singer who performed in various hotel lounges.Jay also had a solo album under Dyna Records in 1997. The latest addition to the band is RICHELLE HOMIRES. She started joining singing contests at the age of 9. Richelle was an undisputed champion for 4 wks in “Pasikatan sa Trese” and was the grand champion of the Mapua Idol Singing Contest in 2004. Before joining Spice Band, she fronted for acoustic bands like Silk Road and Bliss Acoustic.
