I am on a mission to bring forth a MOVEMENT to EMPOWER all young Latinas. A national effort that will bring attention to the issues you have to deal with and survive in order to live the life you DESERVE. It's about time YOU are HEARD. It's about time you are UNDERSTOOD. It's about time you are EMPOWERED!
Who am I? I'm no one you know really. No one famous. You've never heard of me, but you know me really well. My name is Nancy. I went to high school in Bridgeport, CT where I was known as "Nana" and I sported two toned hair and a long blonde tail (I know...). Today my family and close friends call me Spicy because I'm very outgoing and a whole lot of fun. Well, although this is true, the real reason is because my MIL's name is Nancy, too. So after a lot of brainstorming on how to avoid confusion whenever a Nancy was called, the family decided my MIL should remain Nancy because she's been around longer than me, and I would become known as the "Spicy" Nancy. Anyway, all three of me grew up in the east side of Bridgeport, Connecticut free to do whatever I pleased - no real expectations put on me, especially not anything really positive. But I wanted different; I wanted a better life than what I knew to be the only life for someone like me growing up in the hood. So I trusted the only thing I knew I could count on, ME. I listened to that tiny whisper in my head and followed my gut instincts.
I went against the grain and ruffled a lot of feathers, getting cut and bruised by everyone along the way because I chose differently, because I chose not to fit into their the little box of stereotype. It was not an easy climb. Pretty much every step I took was steep and painful because there was no one to lead me. No one ever told me I COULD...
Eventually I climbed the corporate ladder and succeeded in my career during a time when Latinos were not easily accepted, especially into positions of authority. I became the first Latina to hold a management position at a reputable company where I worked for five years. After twelve years in the corporate world I decided to stay home and raise my two boys. During this time, I discovered my true calling - helping YOU realize YOUR true potential. I want to give YOU what I wish I had - ENCOURAGEMENT. I believe people can ACHIEVE their dreams when they BELIEVE in themselves, even when it seems they are the ONLY ONES that do. If you are a young Latina and have questions and think no one cares or understands, please know that people do, I DO! My wish for you is that you don't climb the hill ALONE. Let me be your HERMANA or TIA, someone you can turn to for apoyo, advice, or just to let it all out. If you're climbing steady and with support, that's great. Tell us how you're doing it so others can benefit from what you know. I'm making this my life's mission so you get the support and encouragement you have a right to EVERYDAY! Thanks! How have you been? I've been staying quiet for some time because I haven't been feeling very well. I am 3 months pregnant this Friday and the all day morning sickness is killing me. I'm also high risk since I lost the last pregnancy for unexplained reasons at 6 months- so I am being forced to take a much needed break from EVERYTHING for I'd say the next year!!!!!!!!!!

SEVERAL SCIENTISTS WENT TO GOD AND TOLD HIM THEY FIGURED OUT HOW TO MAKE MAN WITHOUT HIS HELP. THEIR MAN PROVED TO BE EQUAL TO THE ONE HE MADE. GOD'S REPLY WAS "REALLY". WITH A SMIRK ON THEIR FACES AND STANDING IN A POOL OF ARROGANCE THEY REPLIED "REALLY". GOD THEN TOLD THEM "GO AHEAD, LET ME SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO." THEY BEGAN TO PULL THEIR RESOURCES FROM A TRUNK, STARTING WITH A WAD OF DIRT. GOD INTERRUPTED- TOOK THE DIRT AND POLITELY SAID, " GET YOUR OWN DIRT- THIS BELONGS TO ME.
