In 2005, Nelson made his live-action television debut in the cable movie THIRD MAN OUT [Here TV, Movie Central] and continued with roles on DA VINCI'S CITY HALL , GODIVA'S [CHUM] and the ABC Family holiday special CHASING CHRISTMAS opposite Tom Arnold.
On the stage Nelson is extremely proud to have worked with Vancouver legends David C Jones [Neighbours & Suspect A Game of Murder], and Morgan Brayton [Tickled Pink as the Chop Stick Kid].
In 2006 Nelson played Jeff in CE Gatchalian's provacative work, the Jessie Award nominated, BROKEN [to be published in fall06] & performed in the improvised murder mystery, SUSPECT A GAME OF MURDER, as Aldous Bacon.
Nelson appeared on TV screens throughout 2006 in the CBC sitcom THIS SPACE FOR RENT as figure skating legend Elvis Kwan, on Showtime's THE L WORD's fourth season working under Shane at WAX, on the Lifetime Network in his first lead role as SFPD officer Jeffrey Wong in MY SILENT PARTNER, on the Here! network's SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM [the next installment of the Donald Strachey Gay Detective series] reprising his role as Kenny Kwon [also featured at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and Outfest LA], and as another Kenny in Lifetime TV's ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS
Active in Vancouver's independent movie scene, Nelson appeared in three award-winning shorts in 2006: AN OFFER directed by Marcus Sim in which Nelson starred as two characters in love with one woman (played by best friend Aileen Laurel) WINNER BEST PICTURE 2006 MAMMM, FRANCIS directed by Eron Carruth, in which he played opposite a bird and a robot WINNER BEST OVERALL FILM 2006 VSFF, and ONCE A FISH, directed by Ling Chiu, produced by Amy Belling, & script by Loretta Seto, THIRD PRIZE BEST CANADIAN SHORT FILM 2006 VAFF. 2007, TRANS NEPTUNE by Matthew Long becomes the fourth award-winning short to feature Nelson, at the 2007 Out On Screen Festival (Best BC Short Film).
Nelson kicked off 2007 with roles in Bright Light Pictures feature film THEY WAIT, & the Fox Movie ACE OF HEARTS starring Dean Cain.
Catch Nelson in 2008 on JPOD, the hot new comedy series on CBC written by Douglas Coupland based on his novel of the same name, and in the next two installments of the Donald Strachey Mysteries ICE BLUES, and ON THE OTHER HAND, DEATH.
Nelson Wong is currently filming DEATH AMONG FRIENDS with director Ron Oliver for broadcast in 2009!
