Spiers and Boden - now in their fifth year of fruitful collaboration the mighty duo have graduated from being the dangerous new kids on the block to being a solid headlining mainstay on the folk scene and pushing outwards into the mainstream. Musicianship and inventiveness is a given with the lads now increasingly focusing on delivering a big, thumping night out with showmanship, humour and raw stomping energy.
Hi Squeezy ;-) I'll be playing in London on 20th and 21th in a special Appreciation of Italian Songwriting occasion. I'd be glad to see some fellow squeezer (and bower, for sure...)
Pleased to hear you are playing at Wychwood Festival this year 30th May - 1st June - let your friends know that I have a pair of weekend tickets available as a prize to GondwanaSound listeners.
Listen to the show this Wednesday 21st May from 10 - 12 noon or listen to the podcast for the question and competition instructions.
There is no monetary equivalent for the tickets and the winner of the pair of tickets must be able to collect them in person from the festival office with the relevant winner's password.
Good to see you both at Shepley this weekend - great sets and what a reception for Bellowhead!! Congrats to Jon on becoming a dad again! Love the new CD, too. Cheers, Barry
Hello Spiers & Boden, it's very good to meet you, thanks for having me. My respects to you and your music. I hope your day is going very well, and long may things continue that way. Best wishes & cheers, Duncan.
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
