About me:
Welcome to the nerdy side of me (something of which I've never expressed so please forgive the awkwardness) :)
Originally from the UK, where I was educated in Archaeology. I love history of all sorts, particularly the transition from Hallstatt to La Tène Culture, and Late XV- Early XVI century Swiss politics, warfare and Dead Landsknechts. I'm also trying to rekindle my Gaidhlig as I've not spoken it since I was small.
Since, it's nearly imposible to get a Swiss re-enactment group going. I will be "officially" joining the SCA, and would like to network with other members. I've been to many events in the past 10 years and had quite a time of it. Although maille bras and plastic armour held together with duct tape makes me cringe. None the less, where else can you try and recreate that special moment in time for yourself? Plus beating the bloody hell out of another human with a stick is an interesting perk.
Contrary to my rather drab introduction, I've quite the sense of humour and I'm not afraid to use it! Laughter is the key to a long happy life, and I think god I come from the land of Monty Python, Eddie Izzard and Hugh Laurie.
I'm at a moment in my life where I feel the need to take hold the reigns of my life and better myself. I'm content, but I want to be happy again. I'm looking to lose 2 stone and quit smoking by the end of the year, wish me luck!
