The soundtrack for the wedding party of anger & gloom. Traktor from Sweden, which are not only highly considered in circles of connoisseurs because of their extraordinary live qualities, perfect their grim chaos-core on their first full length, entitled Lights. The typical Traktor sound from the early days with indigestive breaks and dissonant guitar riffs in the vein of famous San Diego bands like Drive Like Jehu or Swing Kids is getting enobled with dark & calm passages. Although the album was mastered in the much sought-after Tonteknik-Studio in Umeå, the regulary comparisons to Refused or early JR Ewing are less present, then genre bulks like Lack or Breach. Lights is an album designed for a cheerless winter, post-hardcore between aggression & depression
Hi, thanks for the add. You stocked my one and only album (Red Beans & Rice) twenty odd years ago, great to see you're still going strong. Dansette (just like RB&R) aims to be as authentic as possible. If you're expecting a tribute band, please look elsewhere, but if you want a flavour of the 60's Soul scene then that's what we try to deliver. Please come along and tell us what you think - next gig at THE CROWN INN, MERTHYR TYDFIL, 10TH OCT, or visit us at
To the oldest and best record store in Wales we wish you continued survival amidst the interweb revolution. Respect is due. Sometimes Defiance is the only way. D x (Defiance of god)
Aw, I wanna be in the Spillers 2010 calendar. You should let us send in our own pix of us in Spillers T-shirts and make a collage from them or something! Don't think I can make it to Cardiff for the group shot. :-(
This 14 track album by Dan Melchior is out now on the Topplers Record Label.
Dan Says... It's a good one I think, very loud and blasted out like the more 'punk' moments on 'Thankyou very much' , but with a good dose of mangled pop too.
Available from good independent dealers in the US and UK or direct from Topplers.
