ABOUT Demus
Demus started out as a breaks producer and DJ in New Zealand in 2004 after discovering the nu-school breaks sound coming out of the UK. He now resides in London DJing, producing, and promoting dance music. He has recently started and runs Never Say Die Records alongside dance punk legend
Tommy Dash. The brand new label kicks off with a massive 2009 update of The Freestylers’ ragga soaked anthem ‘Ruffneck’. Given a new lick of paint from Ctrl-Z themselves, and with Navigator on the vocals, it’s obvious that the original version spells mainstream success right from the off. Dig a little deeper and you’ll find Excision & Datsik turning out a demented dubstep remix, High Rankin getting his quirky bass-step in the game and Pirate Soundsystem and RackNRuin pulling out the 4/4 electro treatment. All in all this is one hell of a way to start a label; never say die indeed!
