Owe it all to the Bride of Spinman
BABY NUMBER 3 IS HERE!
Liberty Faye is now 2 mos. old & doin extra fine.

Artistic Contributors To The Feloniou$ Munks
From start, to finish: Spinman Finn (aka deKeeper), 'sWeed' Chillus Knox (aka Mistah Hardcore), Dewdrow Mann (aka G-Fi), Seedy MacTavish (The Dirty Scot). Came & went (and in some cases, came back again): Nayve Dube-King (aka Slick Sharma), Silky Montego, Naughty Pine (aka DJ Dwight), JaeBee Buck, Slim Peck-Ince (aka Marshall Ney), April Flowers, Hans DeLeon (aka the prick who deserted early on), Princess Butterscotch, Bob Kahn (live drums).

Although it wasn't my intention at the outset, I ended up being responsible for everything you hear except the obvious voices, most accoustic / live electric guitars (t/y, Krainmaker, Dewd & Naughty) and occasional instrumental flourish, usually delivered w/ deft skill by s'Weed. The deadly crunch guitar and synth sounding bass derive from a program I love more than hockey (Leafs suck!). Real proud of the rythms, most beats and percussion hits set individually (and lovingly) by hand. My motto from the outset: A kickass loop is just the beginning...

Spinner's Top 10 Movies, All-Time:

1. Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (perfection)
2. Papillon (my boyhood hero)
3. Miller's Crossing (Cohens' masterpiece)
4. Rocky 1 (there were no others)
5. Posse (Bruce Dern vrs. Kirk Douglas)
6. Runaway Train (John Voight rules)
7. Domino (fantastic)
8. Jaws (still chilling)
9. Apocolypse Now (a real brain freaker)
10. Halloween 1 (often imitated...)

but great people.

   About Spinman Finn© (Mr. Different)
Another brave soul ventures into the realm of the Hypersonic...

here lies some samplings of the works recorded by an inspired collective of Toronto area artists called the Feloniou$ Munks (a.k.a; We Came 8 Years Too Early) who brought their prodigious vocal talents & the occasional instrumetal flourish to the trax I was dishing up on a regular basis. Currently scattered across Canada, most of the core peeps in the mad act have indicated strong interest in picking up where we left off... soon as we're feelin' some of the love this music had earned way back in 2000.

CHECK ALL REPETOIRE THRU PIC BELOW
Multi-tasking multi-talent who coulda been a multimillionaire.

But alas, I took the arduous, less travelled road, gaining untold riches in life experience and human understanding. As a result of that long, strange trip, you'll discover a very real depth of character which provides me with sources of inspiration off limits to those who chose the safer route....
"Only those who dare, truly live."
-Victor Davis, 1964-1989

What I've done to what you hear...

Also the guy who sweeps the studio up every so often

Until I score something more than a Fashion Television licensing deal from the industry, I'm kept working whatever half-assed paying jobs I can find (my degree from the School of Hardnawks doesn't impress suits), keeping my fam happy and taking care of the biz here... as well as a slew waiting in the wings PLUS (whew) many demos for film & television that I also converted into ringtones.
Some of my best can be heard at;
http://myspace.com/urbanmustmusic
be sure to check track 6, the alt.hiphop demo feat. s'Weed Knox!

You can also check 4 more of our most recent trax by hittin the banner below..

and 4 from the Munks' Synth-hop era thru this image...

Ideally situated to take on commissions to score films, especially when the producers don't mind me getting the majority of the work done, in short order, out of my home environment (Section 19 Sound). Lastly, for artists or management, immediately available to act as producer or co-writer on any projects in the greater Toronto area and willing to negotiate any offers that require me to travel out of town or work over Internet. And if anyone in your camp mentions re-mix, please think of me first; you can expect otherworldly results with a down to earth price tag.

Peace2all who've made it this far...

Main reason for setting up shop here is to share my much loved creations with open minded ppl who appreciate original music. Aside from greWVee Train, these songs had reached less than 500 sets of ears since our inception; twice that in a month on myspace. Of secondary consideration is making a few extra beans so I can spend more time recording (on better equipment) and less punching clocks. So whatever you do, don't be shy about skimmin the pocket's surface; it ain't goin to a crack binge (so 90's), beer (don't drink) or lottery tickets (no comment) and I SINCERELY believe you're getting full value for your buck. Nuthin' but true love for those who agree.

Now that you've grabbed your favorite track, here's some deeper bio/random thoughts

I love my wife & daughters, immediate & extended family, friends, enlightened beings, music, sports and (man, this one's still tuff) the rest of humanity. Everything else falls under like, tolerate or do my best to ignore.

Born in Toronto to an Orange Irish father and French/British mom, my earliest memories are of fairly rundown neighbourhoods with various ethnicities. Then pop started climbing the corporate ladder and we went from duplex to small house to nice house in a matter of 5 years.

Starting at age 3, I played Hockey, Lacrosse, Baseball, Football, Soccer, Rugby, Basketball and until I developed a hernia issue in the mid-90's at Sully's in Toronto, Boxing. I remain a competent competitor at worst in all of them except Baseball, blowing chunks to this day.

My road to a conventional, upper-middle class life was mapped out when I realized at an early age that never mind the bullocks, I was walkin my own path... the one waaay off main street. 'twas the era of sex, drugs & rock n’ roll, baby- and don‘t forget the beer… well, I managed plenty of the last three for far too many years before realizing I’d seen & done almost all the things an utterly irresponsible individual could get away with on this mad planet. Mind & body were beaten down by the day to day grind of the lifestyle and the Holden Caufield novelty had worn completely off. So I kissed my crutches good bye, quit spinning my wheels in life and ever since, have had the top sex department in the big box complex. Must be a connection; keep your wits about ya and get laid propah! (and for the bonus round- you stay out of fights/trouble).

If I’m listening to someone else’s current music, chances are it’s non-traditional jazz or underground hip-hop. I’ve burned out pretty much everything else that ever appealed to me at this point but have moments where I‘ll get re-enthralled by albums like Crisis, What Crisis? or Superunknown. We sometimes need to get away from the brilliance in order to fully appreciate it again.

Although widely panned by those ‘in the know’, my favorite painter is Henri Rousseau. As a youth, I was spellbound by the Marvel Comics' artists, Frank Frazetta and his numerous proteges.

I've come inches from death on atleast 10 occasions that I know of, making me feel a hell of a lot luckier than any ol' cat.

My only prejudices are directed at ignorance & hate. I'm working ..ting the former some slack, the latter may never be so lucky. Go ahead & remain in the dark if you must- just don't start takin' shots at targets you can't clearly see... your brother may get caught in the crossfire.

Haven't purchased a new item of clothing in over 10 years... GOODWILL RULES! (dear mum still pimps up me wardrobe at Christmas, though)

The epitome of funny for me was the Saturday Night Live era from ‘87 to around ‘90 or so. John Lovitz is the only cast member on my friends list and though he’d occasional have me in stitches, his lines were usually the lamest. Sorry bud, tellin it like it is.

Offering mostly silent scorn for any religion that purports to possess the ‘one, true way’ to salvation. Knowingly or more likely not, they all lie in order to control your mind and wallet. Pssst, Big Secret for those pushing the Big Fib: our spirits are eternally safe.

Big believer in eloquence, however, in both word and deed.

Played piano to around the grade 3 level then took up drums for about 5 years before admitting I'd never get in the practice time to be truly great. Whenever I've gotten behind the kit for an impromptu jam since, most artists still appreciate my offbeat sense of (occasionally late) rythm. I play the majority of the music on a MIDI enabled keyboard, allowing for horns, strings, organs, etc. Sure you can beat the quality going live in a top studio but even if I could afford it, I'd rather buy a better processer.

I drink too much coffee and don't eat enough fruits & vegetables.

Apathetic at best towards the political process, which could be irreparably cured in three difficult steps:
1) Eliminate party politcs
2) Outlaw lobbying
3) Demand that all democratically elected officials become as knowledgable as possible on all issues before them and consult exclusively with their conscience before deciding to support a particular position.

I once won the public speaking contest for Peel County; population around .65 mil at the time. Straight outta the Ripley file, my speech was on frogs. When I feel old and am getting bored, I’ll consider putting those skills to use in a run for public office, just to piss off the powers that be. They can avoid this scenario by showing more consideration for their beleaguered constituents in the interim.

If wondering 'bout the birthmark near my ear in the user pic, it's a tatoo of the sun sitting on my temple (mohawked drummer, terrible mid-80's punk band). A crecent moon is on the opposite side and no, it didn't hurt... but I won't be recommending my girls do like dad. One of those eventual; 'do as I say' issues (they think they're birthmarks, btw).

I 've likely read over 1,000 novels in my life, the best were of the historical variety.

been a fantasy sports stud for almost 10 years running and jsyk; there's nothing geeky about putting your knowledge of the game against 13 others. Nerdos are too busy hacking a new algorithm to realize Demeco Ryan's became a force on the defensive side for the Houston Texans last year and is a must start in all IDP formats. However, I've been an addict (sports, not heroin) running too many teams in the past while real life stuff demands my attention. Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Golf, Pickems, Salary Cappers, even luv the Simulated versions... been wigged out on it all for too long, finally started to cut back on the participation. Props to my wife for enduring my other obsession.

I have not read a novel since I started playing fantasy sports. I may pick one up soon with all the time that's being freed up.

Cuba’s slowly getting the message, now if Gorby could explain to North Korea that communism’s dead, a lot of ppl would be a lot happier. Great in principle / abysmal when put into practice- as Marx’s manifesto didn't take into account the ability of absolute power to corrupt absolutely. Kim is Stalin in a much nicer suit.

After almost 8 years of a monogomous lifestyle with my scrumptious wife, I can safely state: THE GOOD TIMES JUST GET BETTER!

If you want to beat me in poker, best bring alot more money than I have to the table. serious.

Consider me a walking contradiction in terms; artist/jock, intelligent/dummy, popular/weirdo, leader/loner, kindhearted/cuthroat, lazy/workaholic, funky/white guy, inspired/do nothing… the list goes on. One of the most all round, astute peeps I’ve ever come across, a Mr. Robert ‘Rosie’ Rowbothom, after applying his psychology degree on me for a few months, ended up taking Winston Churchill’s role to my Russia, calling me; an enigma wrapped in a mystery, etc. however it goes. We got along famously, nonetheless, bruthas til the end.

When given the option of complaining about something or doing something about it, I'll choose the latter everytime. When it's out of my hands, shrug shoulders & hit the ignore button. Of great importance is keeping the hate outside of my person.

Only this soul is old... rale talk.

Pleased to see the political machine running China are having their Olympics upstaged by caring souls from the international community. Until they pull their troops outta Tibet, it's evil empire all the way, fiscally conservative weasel words notwithstanding.

Hardly anyone's heard my music but those that have are generally taken by it. So in a nutshell; seems I'm failing as a marketer but succeeding as an artist... perfect.

now you know me, sorta...
