The Spirit of the American Cowboy Foundation is a Boston, MA-based volunteer-led non-profit charitable organization dedicated to raising money for children's cancer research primarily by showcasing the sport of rodeo and other aspects of the western lifestyle.
The Foundation's signature fundraising event is the New England Wild West Fest™, a one of a kind Western themed festival full of great food, family fun, and world class rodeo action held the last full weekend in June each year at the Fairgrounds in Marshfield, MA.
Dates for the coming year are June 26-27, 2010, so make plans to attend. It's a great time for a great cause and you won't want to miss it.

Good evening. Greetings from Brunswick, ME. Wanted to pass along some rodeo literature recommendations to my fellow rodeo aficionados. I've read them all, and absolutely enjoyed every page of these books: 1) "Chasing the Rodeo" by W.K. Stratton, 2) "Blacktop Cowboys" by Ty Phillips, 3) "Rodeo Cowboys in the North American Imagination" by Michael Allen, 4) "Behind the Chutes: The Mystique of the Rodeo Cowboy" by Rosamund Norbury.
Went to Cowtown Rodeo [in Pilesgrove, NJ] for the second time this evening. Had a great time again...despite the crappy weather. I hope everyone is doing well in the rodeo world :)
