LOTS OF NEW SHOWS!!

"Hey guys! I will never forget the night I saw you at DiPiazas in Long Beach. I closed my 60 year old eyes and turned my ears to 6 feet away and it totally blew my mind! Not since 1979 at Knebworth has that happened."
••• Jeff

Many things set Spirit of Zeppelin apart from the myriad of fake Zeppelin cover bands out there, but there's one thing they do that the others simply can't. Improvisation. If you've ever heard or seen a real Led Zeppelin live performance, you know that their ability to take songs to a new place every night was the cornerstone of what they did. Spirit of Zeppelin is precisely what their name implies. Here's how the band stacks up:

Mark Romans is a globally recognized John Bonham officianado. He accurately & passionately performs Bonzo's best contributions to the Zeppelin sound.
- He has collected vintage Ludwig drumkits & Paiste cymbals for too many years to mention here!
- Mark was requested & hired by Paiste to perform all the hits for the new reissued Paiste Giant Beat cymbal sample collection.
- Now for something really cool.... CLICK HERE to check out Mark's performance on drummerworld.com using the Green Sparkle Bonham kit we use at our shows.
.....Yes! That kit's previous owner was the man himself, John Bonham!

Frank Simes is one of the most in-demand studio & live guitarists in the business. He brings a breathtakingly accurate & energetic representation of Jimmy Page's groundbreaking signature style to the Spirit of Zeppelin band.
- Using all original vintage gear, Frank is able to recreate the tone & energy of a Page performance to near perfection (lightyears beyond any of those other tribute bands out there).
- Frank has recorded & performed live with:
Don Henley
Mick Jagger
Roger Daltrey
Stevie Nicks

and many other international touring artists.

Bill Lanham is an accomplished bass player & an intense presence (no pun intended) in the Spirit of Zeppelin band.
- Locking in flawlessly with Mark Romans on the kit, this rhythm section is unbeatable!
- Bill toured performing on bass, synth & backing vocals for Joe Walsh 1999-2003.

Frank & Bill share lead vocal duties on Spirit of Zeppelin shows. These shows are a must-attend for anyone who enjoys witnessing a power trio authentically pulling off some of the best rock music in history.
- We don't "dress up" at these shows......We just "show up" & rock!

WE ARE A SEXY BAND!!

The Spirit of Zeppelin - "The Ocean"

"The Ocean" refers to the sea of fans seen from the stage at Led Zeppelin concerts, to whom this song was dedicated. It is one of the few Led Zeppelin songs where all four members shared the writing credit.

Immigrant Song and the Ocean Song played masterfully by the Spirit of Zeppelin at the Gaslamp, Long Beach, Ca.

Immigrant Song

"Immigrant Song" is the opening track on English rock band Led Zeppelin's third album, Led Zeppelin III, released in 1970.

The song begins with a distinctive, wailing cry from vocalist Robert Plant and is built around an incessant, battering Jimmy Page/John Paul Jones/John Bonham riff. The hiss at the beginning of the track is feedback from an echo unit.

"Immigrant Song" is dedicated to Leif Ericson. It is sung from the perspective of Vikings rowing west from Scandinavia in search of new lands. Its driving, regular beat evokes the determination of the explorers and their oars hitting the water, and the lyrics make explicit reference to Viking conquests and the Old Norse religion (To fight the horde, singing and crying / Valhalla, I am coming!). The song was inspired by the band's trip to Iceland (the land of ice and snow) in June 1970.

"Immigrant Song" is one of Led Zeppelin's few single releases, having been released in November of 1970 by their record label, Atlantic Records, against the band's wishes. It reached #16 on the Billboard charts. Its B side, "Hey Hey What Can I Do", was otherwise unavailable before the release of the first Led Zeppelin Box Set in 1990. The single was mistakenly released in Japan with "Out On The Tiles" as the B-side rather than "Hey Hey What Can I Do." That single is now a rare collectible.

One of the lines from the song became part of Led Zeppelin lore. The line, "The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to ne
