Music
I LUUV all kinds of music, classic rock, modern rock, pop, dance, r&b, techno, jazz, easy listening, new age, classical, showtunes, world music, etc. Especially fond of 70s & 80s music.
Movies
Across The Universe, Hairspray, Dreamgirls, Marie Antionette, The Devil Wears Prada, Little Miss Sunshine, Rent, The Producers, Phantom of the Opera, The Lake House, DaVinci Code, Hollywoodland, Harry Potter & the Order of The Phoenix and documentaries Sicko, Farenheit 911, and Who Killed The Electric Car? are favorites. I also love classic old romantic movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Pillow Talk, Funny Face, It's A Wonderful Life, The Philadelphia Story to name a few. Secret Confession: When I'm in a certain goofy mood, I will play campy old musicals like Xanadu, Earth Girls Are Easy, Muriel's Wedding & others as well!
Television
Being in the modeling business, I love "Project Runway", "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency", and "America's Next Top Model" also like "The Apprentice" and "American Idol". I'm a entertainment junky, nuts for shows like "ET" & "Access Hollywood", also Jon Stewart's "Daily Show". Favorite comedy/drama shows are "Ugly Betty", "Nip/Tuck", "Gilmore Girls", "Sex And The City", and "Desparate Housewives."
Books
I read a lot of biographies and self help/inspirational books as well as chick lit and mysteries. Some novels I recently like were "The Devil Wears Prada", "The DaVinci Code", and I'm also a fan of the Harry Potter series.

ABOUT "SPLASH"
Founded with the purpose of managing top professional models with the highest ethical principles
Specializing in high fashion models, also working with commercial print, TV, & Film
I'm the owner of Splash Model Management, a modeling and talent agency based in Virginia Beach VA. We manage professional talent (both union & non-union) up and down the east coast. I work with photographers, art directors, catalog houses, magazines, TV studios, film studios, casting agents and many others. I also market top models to casting directors, photographers and major agencies in top markets such as New York, South Beach, LA, and overseas.
When I started Splash Model Management, I wanted to operate a professional agency representing the finest fashion talent in the Mid-Atlantic region. I also wanted to base my business on the highest ethical principles and "green" principles. At Splash, we minimize paper flow keeping our portfolios and most of our correspondance online. We also do little things for the planet such as using energy efficient light bulbs, recycled products when available and re-using/recycling when possible.
In addition to the "green" principles, we have chosen an ethical business model. Other the past few years, I have encountered many models with horror stories about scams in the modeling industry involving over priced schools, conventions, photo sessions and more. I've also heard of models locked into exclusive contracts with no guarantee of work or earnings. The truth is that most of the world's most famous models never went to a modeling school or a convention. If a model has the look and body for runway, some coaching may be necessary but it should never cost thousands of dollars! Any good agency who truly believes in a talent should give basic counselling for free or a minimum hourly rate. Runway training should never cost a model over two to three hundred dollars.
Of course acting is another field altogether, however actors should be careful to study with an experienced film/stage actor or director, not someone employed by a modeling school! Because SPLASH is not a school, we can be objective in guiding you to finding the best source for any acting classes to help further your career
A legitimate agency/management company should be first and foremost an AGENCY or Manager. In markets governed by unions, an agency cannot operate a school and book SAG/AFTRA jobs.
At Splash, I have three primary goals: 1) to market talent for legitimate paying jobs (print, runway, TV, film, trade shows) in Virginia and surrounding areas; 2) to create new fashion opportunities in the state of VA by bringing fashion events and attracting designers/promoters to the area; and 3) to promote talent listed with Splash for jobs world wide both by booking directly and by working with agencies in primary markets.
Splash does not require an exclusive contract. We have agreements defining commissions, mother agency, client loyalty, definitions of agency relationship, and other issues but I do not believing in restricting a model's ability to work, especially in a market where jobs are limited. The majority of professionals share this philosophy especially when in a "right-to-work" state. It is a different situation in primary markets, where major campaign contracts can be offered to the model and a model can make a good living from modeling jobs alone. In any case, the model should make sure any exclusive contract has an easy "out" clause if the model is not earning money within a few months! A model should NEVER, NEVER, sign an exclusive with a company that makes the largest part of its income from classes, conventions or other non-agency activities!
In 2007, SPLASH introduced the first VA Fashion Week, bringing nationally reknown designers to VA to show their latest collections. In 2008, Splash will follow this with several Fashion Week events including a Swim, Surf, Sun" Fashion event in summer 2008, and a bigger, better Fashion Week in November 2008. In addition, Splash hosted Search for a Supermodel" during the summer, offering the opportunity to both male and female models. Go to the website now and vote for your favorite! www.vafashionweek.net
