Reviews
"For Gaullier, the devil's in the details. Certainly, anyone who loves mellotron will find plenty to appreciat here, but the guitar effects, vast array of keyboard sounds and voice filters lift things beyond the ordinary." PROGRESSION MAGAZINE
"On to the music: Dark and even aggressive with the harsh guitar riffs, this reminds of music from bands like Anathema (Alternative 4 era) while incorporating intricate compositional structures and a vast array of sounds and instruments. A song like Trample On Me presents a wide range of emotions and styles in it, showcasing Julien's vast influences. You have a dark opening which culminates in a bombastic forceful opening lead by poignant guitar riffs. The chorus has a very good use of keyboards and voice-like sound produced which I find very effective and appealing. Later in the song, there is a shift to a quieter and slower part, which would have been better sounding had more keyboards been used, but still, is very effective; in particular the guitar solo."PROGARCHIVES
The most pleasing aspect of The Field Where She Died is the quality of the melodic composition. Strong melodic writing can cover a host of other compositional shortcomings and Gaullier shows throughout the album that he has a gift for melodic writing. It will be impossible for you to listen to The Field Where She Died without carrying an imprint of the melodic phrasing in your mind for the future. Secondly, the array of aural colours with which Gaullier has chosen to portray his music is rich and he has skillfully arranged them within the soundscape: the music is beautifully orchestrated and in alliance with the melody that proves a powerful force. The overall finished product sounds, if you can imagine it, a little like a cross-fertilisation between the symphonic prog-rock of early King Crimson, or perhaps even Camel, and male-fronted gothic-rock.DPRP
"Spleen Arcana has its own sound incorporating a bit of early Marillion here and a bit of early King Crimson there. For a debut disc, The Field Where She Died is plenty accomplished and the musicianship shines throughout. I’d certainly recommend this to symphonic fans!"JERRY LUCKY
"There is always danger with one-man projects that they will slip into self-indulgence but Gaullier manages to avoid this pitfall by achieving just the right balance with the four longer songs all around the ten minute mark and the mournful "The Missing Piece" offering a concise interlude. The atmosphere here is decidedly downbeat with only the occasional uplifting melody, and Gaullier's vocal style could easily draw comparisons with the likes of Anathema."SEA OF TRANQUILITY

Thanks a lot for your friendship and welcome onboard.
Brilliand sounds on your side, incredible that you are only a one man project (with a little help). My fav is your ballad "The missing piece", hmmm cool.
And you are right, without music life would be a mistake. I spend a lot of time to see old and new heroes on concerts. Last week I have seen Steve Hackett in Hamburg, exellent guitar player and very sympathetic by the way. He has signed me one of my (and I have seen one of yours too) favourite records.
I wish you all the best for your future and take care friend.
