It's going to hit you like a thunderstorm. Great lyrics, amazing voice... excellent music. George has a gift of mixing interesting aspects to create a thoughtful, floating sound. This one takes you on an emotional journey!

"Splinter is a band with the deepest of moods swirling in Industrial Throttle and Acoustic Dreaminess. Lyrics that cut deep into your heart and music swirling into your soul. Backed by thousands of fans across the country, Gothic crowds and the non-gothic have a love for this band which can be described only by their utter devotion to their soul capturing sound."

From Radiowired.com "intense Lyrics and dynamic vocals"

The latest release from Splinter is by far George's best yet! This well produced and written album brings forth Smith's best songs to date. Hitting you from the first track 'carry me' with power alterna-pop down to the industrial edges from the likes of NiN, and stabbing westward.

   About Splinter

Splinter hit the scene in 1997 with a musical style so broad that descriptions have ranged from acoustic dreaminess with entrancing lyrics to industrialized throttle and industrial with a heart. Subsequent years found the band touring the east coast, drawing fans from New York to Florida and captivating audiences with an intense live show.
After self-producing their first two releases, the band entered the studio in 2001 with producer/engineer Alan Yates (Collective Soul) to begin work on what would become their most elaborate effort to date. Recording at Atlanta's Songbird Studios and removed from the distractions of their Philadelphia home, the band turned out the ten songs that would become their 1st full length CD, The Emptying.

Released in January 2002, The Emptying is an appealing collection of modern rock tracks, combining commercial appeal with the lyrical and emotional depth Splinters fans have come to anticipate. The Emptying showcases Smiths aggressive fusion of lush electronica, haunting melodies and pensive lyrics. The 10-track collection is being hailed by fans and critics alike as their most impressive work to date.

The hopeful single, Carry Me, raced up the charts on MP3.com, and the album is available at area record stores (Sam Goody, Tower) and online at Cdbaby.com, ITunes, Napster, MSN and Musicmatch just to name a few. The bands website (www.splintertheband.com) has drawn fans from around the country, and even internationally, with mentions in online fanzines from Japan and the U.K.

The band released their newest CD titled "its not about you" which came out in October 2005. On this 17-track collection, Smith continues to prove himself an astonishing songwriter, filling tracks with his haunting melodies of life and love forlorn while still keeping the beats fresh and modern.
Fans can download tracks from The Emptying and "its not about you" on Itunes, Napster, Musicmatch, MSN, BestBuy and many more online Mp3 sites, as well as their web site splintertheband.com and at cdbaby.com/all/splinter

This was in one of my friend's bulletins and I found it pertinent to us. You are so in my field.....

In Gratitude

Follow your bliss.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn't know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn't have opened for anyone else.
