Best current 'sounds like' bands? Probably Weezer and Fountains of Wayne, with those Beatlesque harmonies hanging over everything.

Splitsville will hit you with pop, straight ahead rock, a little punk and some funk thrown in for good measure.

“LET'S GO! THE BEST OF SPLITSVILLE” Now Available!

Popboomerang Records of Melbourne, Australia and Zip Records of San Francisco, CA have just released THE Splitsville Collection,

"LET'S GO! THE BEST OF SPLITSVILLE"

With tracks hand-picked by the band, LET'S GO! is a 25-song overview of Splitsville's entire career.

Among the tracks included are 'Yearbook', 'Manna', 'Day Job', 'Forever', 'White Dwarf' and 'Headache'....over 75 minutes in all.

You know 'em, you love 'em.

Will Harris of Popdose.com writes
"...there’s still no question in my mind that the track listing for Let’s Go! finds a compilation which will come to be held up by power-pop historians as a must-own…but with that said, don’t feel obliged to wait."

According to Frank Valish of Amplifier Magazine...
"Splitsville has seen and weathered the passing of grunge, the swing revival, nu metal, electroclash, boy bands, and numerous indie-rock fads and fashions over the past decade or so, and the quality of their output has more than equaled that of better-known contemporaries such as The Posies, Teenage Fanclub, Weezer, and the like."

Harp Magazine's Brian Baker calls Let's Go! "...a great introduction to Splitsville’s infectious pop brilliance."

While Aaron Kupferberg of Powerpopaholic.com states, "(Let's Go!) is a great way to catch up to the amazing Splitsville sound."

"Let's Go!" is now available at Not Lame, CDBaby.com and Kool Kat Musik.

Check out the Splitsville page at CD Baby for complete tracklisting and to hear samples of each track.

Splitsville's previous CD, 'Incorporated', has been called "a tiny burst of awesomeness" by the Onion, while the All Music Guide states that Splitsville, "...is poised, as ever, between the harmony-drenched sound of Teenage Fanclub and the energetic drive of Weezer, and they have come up with a handful of tracks that either of those bands would have gladly added to an album."

Tim Sendra of allmusic reviews "Incorporated":
"White Dwarf" opens Splitsville's fourth album Incorporated on a very high note. It is a mini-epic with breathtaking dynamics, passionate vocals, wall of guitars, and loads of feeling, as well as some truly majestic chord changes. The band is poised, as ever, between the harmony-drenched sound of Teenage Fanclub and the energetic drive of Weezer, and they have come up with a handful of tracks that either of those bands would have gladly added to an album.
The best song, other than "White Dwarf," is "I Wish I Never Met You," which rings true like a track off Matthew Sweet's Girlfriend or the Fannies' Bandwagonesque. The other standouts are "Headache," a chiming ballad with a neat Beatles' lift, "Sasha," which has great keyboards and an inventive arrangement, and "The Mentalist," a sweet-sounding ballad that builds and builds with the group ending up with some wonderful vocal harmonies.

Incorporated is a step above the average power pop revival CD. Certainly fans of the band won't be let down, and fans of the style should make sure to add it to their collection.

Scott Homewood Gives Kudos To Splitsville
cdreviews.com

Thankfully this band, probably one of the best pop rock bands ever, hasn't lived up to its name and thrown in the towel. God knows, no one would have begrudged them. After having their label folded, the band has released some of the finest pop-craft ever on its own or on tiny indie labels.

However you find this stuff, it's a blend of pop orchestrations and solid rock - almost as if Brian Wilson was the leader of Cheap Trick or even the Fountains of Wayne. Incorporated will definitely please any rock fans who have been buoyed by the success of the White Stripes, Polyphonic Spree and the aforementioned Fountains of Wayne.

Every song is chock full of the kind of attention to pop detail that made the Beatles' later work so interesting, yet retains the catchiness of the simplest pop-rockers such as The Knack and the rest of the skinny-tie brigade, though it would be wrong to consider this New Wave. Instead, call it perfect pop' because no other term gives it proper justice. No doubt this has the highest ratio of inescapable hooks and unforgettable choruses than anything currently on the radio. Search this out and pick it up.

Who Knows Better Than Amplifier's Joe Lutz?
Amplifier Magazine
"In today's sea of musical mediocrity floats at least one buoy of hope: Splitsville. With the release of their excellent new album, "Incorporated", Baltimore's great power pop hope prove that even after 10 years and five albums, they continue to grow."
"One listen to "Incorporated" and it becomes clear that the band is just hitting its stride...(They have) delivered the most focused Splitsville record yet."
"...it is obvious that the band worked hard, explored new approaches and dug even deeper into their already impressive songwriting skills."
"...the band can be counted on to keep delivering great records, keep offering a snapping live show, and well, basically just keep on keeping on."

"Forever" from the album 'The Complete Pet Soul'

And because it's been our dream for Paris Hilton to appear in a Splitsville video...check it out folks, our cover of the Bacharach/David classic "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" in cinematic glory.
