My mom named me after a Creedence song, and I was born on the week that the Beatles released "Yesterday". when I was a kid in Port Hueneme, the big thing was my older sister's records, so lots of Beatles, Stones, Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Beach Boys, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Elton John, Jackson Browne, and Warren Zevon. As I got into high school, Duran Duran, The Police, Sting, U2, Oingo Boingo, Huey Lewis and the News, Circle Jerks, Plimsouls, Berlin, Prince, Violent Femmes, Little River Band, and a lot of other bands I can't remember at the moment. "Local" bands / artists would be Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (I went to school w/ Scotty Morris when we were both in orchestra; he played trumpet then) Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Glen Phillips, Dixie Chicks, Sophie Hawkins. VENICE, Technikult of Flesh, Hope Arden, Melissa Etheridge, Yes, Circa, and Sting.
