About me: Hello and welcome to SpodNation on MySpace. We're the Spodcasters, your online source for KU Sports blabber since November 10, 2005, brought to you by the Lawrence Journal-World, 6News and KUSports.com. The Spodcasters work from the studio mostly, and during March Madness come to you daily from the road while following the Jayhawks wherever they might land. The cast of clowns includes:
Going Deep: Fast Forward (Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008) In the fifth week of Going Deep, Matt Tait and Eric Sorrentino use the bye week to preview the rest of the Jayhawks' schedule with KUsports.com online editor Jesse Newell. The guys go game by game, giving their predictions for each contest left in KU's slate. Listen Here
Spodcasters Postgame: Sam Houston State (Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008) The guys (Tom Keegan, Jesse Newell, Dugan Arnett) analyze KU's 38-14 victory over Sam Houston State. The guys give their grades for KU's running game, talk about concerns on KU's defense and discuss the importance of Todd Reesing's health. Listen Here
Spodcasters Pregame: Sam Houston State (Friday, Sept. 19, 2008) The guys (Tom Keegan, Eric Sorrentino, Jesse Newell) talk about the areas that the KU football team is looking to improve during its game Saturday against Sam Houston State. The three give their predictions and also wonder whether the game will be a tryout for a certain KU player with a long first name. Listen Here
After listening to your latest Spodcast and all the weird conincidences it's like an episode of LOST with all of the oddities...haha.
Told ya Greene Machine. Told ya the T'Wolves would mess up thier pick and go with Love. My starry-eyed prediction was correct. All the Minnesota fans went to bed thinking McPhale had done right by them only to awake to a nightmare. I don't have much "love" for Kevin Love. Sorry, he's overrated and then trading Mario away after drafting him. Unbelievable!! I had found salvation, but then it was immediate lost after he was traded away as well.
Maybe you guys could talk about the horrible officiating during the KU/Davidson game. That was unbelievable. That foul they called while Curry shot the 3. On the replay it didn't look like he was touched at all. Seemed like they wouldn't even call a foul on the tournament's prize gem player. So lame. KU sure looked tight. I was having UCLA flashbacks.
Also, we need to contact Sweet Lew and help our students like Davidson did. I mean, how did Davidson get all those lower level tix near the court at such short notice. They basically had their entire student body there. Lew needs to have something for the KU students in San Antonio. We need to show up those Tarless wonders.
Hey folks... got a little bit of the KU pep rally from Friday on YouTube as KU Alumni Sweet Sixteen Pep Rally. Will have one posted again later after the rally today. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
Yes... much better now. Now... how about getting me on the show when you come visit us up in Detroit?!?!? I bought my tickets on faith in January, and it paid off nicely!
Oookay... bit of a spodcast breakdown on last night's post-game. We now know that Wood doesn't get dressed unless he leaves the hotel, we know what it's like to live in a bubble.... but not much about the game... unless silence is the only way to describe the game.
lol im in altoona kansas..so im not that far away..and yes i listen to EVERY spodcasters episode.. i love listening to you guys..its like a religion for me.. haha
Not trying to look past OSU or anything this Sat cause they will play us tough and KU has to win it's remaining games, but maybe you guys could talk about the KSU/UT matchup and the ramifications.
I'd think KU fans would actually wanna root for KSU to beat UT on 2/25 to give UT their 3rd loss so that KU can take control and give KSU their 3rd loss on Mar 1 in order to take sole possession of the Big 12 Title. I could be wrong though.
Did you guys notice that the supposed #1 high school football recruit, Terrell Pryor from Jeannette, PA, played for a team whose mascot is a Jayhawk? Pretty funny. Too bad Mangino couldn't land that kid with his PA ties and the Jayhawk correlation.
Just thought it was a funny coincidence. Maybe a few years we'll get some guys like that.
