High school friends Jon Ring, Dave Berger, and Bill Ring formed Spodie in June 1992. Spodie played their first show opening for the Rottweilers at ABC Deli on Short Vine, Oct. 08, 1993.
Former Amoebamen bassist/vocalist Jason Knarr joined Spodie in Jan. 1995, and later that same year the band recorded at Ultrasuede Studios and released their 6-song demo tape "Lucky Hell Drivers".
After self-releasing 2 EPs on their Cult of Teen Records label, and playing every basement and bar in Greater Cincinnati, Spodie played their last show at the Ella.net Corporate Offices (now the Northside Tavern) on Dec. 04, 1999 with Dropkickmejesus and Pincushion.
This year Spodie reunited after a 10 year absence to play April's Cincy PunkFest VIII, and the Insubordination Fest in Baltimore with new drummer Dave Cahill (Chocolate Horse). Spodie's entire discography has been collected on a 22 song CD from Insubordination Records and is available at insubordinationrecords.com and interpunk.com
