Spoiled Rotten is the biggest hidden musical jem in Hamilton, Canada.Originally formed in 1993 from the remains of the Absent Minded Professors, the group called themselves The Retardz and made a name for themselves not only for their extremely catchy, beer soaked garage punk music, but also because of the band name, which caused some problems with bookings shows and getting press coverage. Mainman and guitarist/vocalist Larry Retard and drummer Candy Rotten bashed through several lineup changes and released a pile of full length cassette albums. Hoping to take the band to the next level, and realizing that the Retardz had run their course, the group changed their name to Spoiled Rotten in 1997. Bass player/vocalist JT Vapid jumped into the band in 1998 The group got down to business and the result was the release of the 'Kung Fu Leather Jacket' cd in 1999 on AMP Records. Containing 15 songs in 31 minutes, it is best described as trashpunkrockn'rollgarageginandtonicmotherfuckin'shit (in other words, it's good). Never idle, the band had also managed to rack up playing over 200 live shows across Canada and the USA over the years. A very memorable hometown show saw the audience explode into a full blown brawl brawl/riot when the band launched into a killer version of the Clash's "White Riot" .
Fast forward to early fall 2001 when after 9 years Candy Rotten decided to leave the band on the verge of recording a new album. Never content to just pack in the towel, the group hunted for a replacement drummer and Jimmy Vapid filled in for awhile until Pete Ellery decided to settle behind the kit. The group recorded a brand new 18 song cd entitled 'Guitarded' which was released on January 30, 2003 by AMP Records. It is a slight departure from the bouncier rhythms of the first cd, but it is total 100% in your face, rock and roll punk record. If this doesn't make you wanna get up and dance, nothing will.
