The Spoiled Royals are a well-seasoned and deeply-fried blues rock trio from Austin, characterized by fresh breath, underhandedness and treachery. Their thick, quick and dirty sound mines the common rawness, simplicity and emotion shared between punk rock, rockabilly and blues. Songs focus on traditional blues themes of women, liquor, gambling, redemption, breakfast, etc. juiced with punk's energy, distorted guitars and brevity.
Spoiled Royals formed in summer 2007, recorded their debut CD “Walk With A Purpose” in early 2008, and began touring Texas and stabbing into Louisiana. Singer and guitarist Mikey Royal and drummer Eddie Royal (Brandon) were once a part of Steamroller, popular staples at legendary Austin venues such as the Black Cat Lounge, Steamboat and Antone's. They also recorded as the short-lived (yet memorable) punk act the Quitters.
Equally at home onstage in blues bars, punk dives and honky-tonks, Spoiled Royals have shared bills and stages with acts such as the Chop Tops, the Flametrick Subs, Johnny Hootrock, Pickled Punks, Turbo 350, Whiskey Boat, the Texas Sapphires, Johnny Falstaff, Red Line Riot, the West Coast Pinups and the Flamin Hellcats.
