About me: I'm a self-publishing writer who has recently earned a Master's Degree in American history. I am looking to get a job and eventually earn my Phd. I'm also editor in chief and owner of Black Oak Press, Illinois-- an independent publisher. I love reading about history and philosophy. I like studying ghost stories and legends, and writing about local legends and obscure places. Every once and a while I like photography and/or art, but not in any serious way. I maintain my own website, where I publish a lot of my writing and a monthly newsletter about obscure, local legends and historical oddities. I love horror movies, especially low budget or foreign ones. I like to think I'm tolerant of people's opinions, but that doesn't mean I don't like to debate over them. I listen heavy metal, as you can tell from my 'musical interest' list. I like people with tattoos. I've also never been convicted of tax fraud, and I pay all of my bills on time.

Who I'd like to meet: New people, trolls, & vikings. Also, people who are interesting and who have money for road trips. People who are intelligent enough to know they don't know everything. People who act on what they say instead of just making excuses for when they don't. People who are quick to forgive, and those with a healthy dose of creativity.
I pity people who, because they dress a certain way, restrict their diet, and restrain from certain activities, think they are morally superior to everyone else. I can't imagine how terrible life must look to them.
