About me:
The Spooner Bake Shoppe has been in the Markgren family since 1952. Ernie & Ellen Markgren were the original owners and along with their sons, Dave, Phil & Steve and daughter Mary Ellen, they learned how to make quality breads from a German baker they employed, as well as the full line of sweets the shop produces. Phil and his wife Nancy eventually bought the bakery and with their three children, Kim, Steph and Mike( and Mike's wife, Julie,) have been running the shop ever since. Grandchildren have even helped out through the years. Brandon, Andrea, Jacob, Tara, Geoff, Kierstin, Ashtin and Tommy have all had their hands in the dough! It's truly a family affair. From our family to yours, we're proud to have you as our customers.

We have a full line of quality homemade baked foods from breads, cakes, cookies, pies and dinner rolls to coffee cakes, donuts and sweet rolls. We make low carb bread, no sugar or fat breads, gluten free bread and have sugar free treats. Summertime means hand scooped ice cream in a variety of flavors. Our cooler is always stocked with milk, juices and sodas. In addition we carry jams, jellies, syrups, wild rice, craisins, nuts, fudge, brittles and artwork by Kim, Jacob, Geoff and Kierstin as well as home decor by Steph. We offer a good line of kitchen ware and gift items, too.
