Sporran Again -
“The Super Funky Ceilidh Five Piece”
Sporran Again is a funky, five piece ceilidh band. Our usual line up includes fiddle, flute, electric guitar, electric bass, and drums with acoustic guitar thrown in for bigger gigs and recordings. Performing together since 1997, these days we perform regularly throughout Scotland and the UK to ceilidh dancing audiences for weddings, parties, student gigs, public ceilidhs, etc.
The highlight of our past 3 summer seasons was opening the FRENZY Christian music festival at Highland Hall, Ingliston, Edinburgh kicking the event into full gear leading 5000+ festival goers into fast and furious ceilidh action!
Although we generally perform as a 5 piece there are about 12 musicians, all from wide and varied musical backgrounds, who perform with the group on a regular basis. Traditional Scottish and Irish tunes are always the starting point for the music we make however the result is anything but ordinary!
