OUT NOW! BLAM AND FLOW BY AXEL BARTSCH FEAT. JAKE THE RAPPER
The opening track "Blam and Flow [Hunt Version]" sets the tone for tension. Jake "The
Rapper" Basker tells us the story of a wolf who only wants to explain his psyche - the
predator in all of us. Axel Bartsch's signature minor key melodic minimalism is embellished
lightly by percussive elements and just the right amount of hip shake. The occasional
otherworldly arpeggio rips a vast seam through the hypnotic groove...this is techno!
Come back from the cosmos and into the club with the next track, "Blam and Flow [All the
Beast Version]". The melody variates between pulsating menace and sweet seduction with
intermittent velvety harmonies. The wolf is back, and this time he's a bit hungrier. Thick
warm synths fill the space with electric heat while a drum machine taps along at top speed.
Occasional swooshes of frequencies explode in the background.
Rounding out the EP with a mammoth club remix is the highly respected Thomas
Schumacher (Get Physical). Turn this one up to "11", you'll understand why! This is sexy,
booty shaking big room music. Jake the Rapper's voice booms over the dance floor above
tremor inducing sub bass, kept in time with a bone crushing clap.
A fourth previously unreleased track by Axel Bartsch, "Cuarenta Y Tres Con Leche",
recorded during his 2008 album sessions will also be available as a digital only bonus.
Shadowy groove meets unconventional melodies and swells of ghostly voices.

OUT NOW - ODDVAR 'FOR LOVERS' EP TRACKLISTING:
01 Love Me
02 Without You
03 Slave to the Bar
04 The Secret (feat. Jens Bond)
Oddvar is the man of the hour! Entrancing club kids in his native Berlin, his productions are characterized by light-tempered grooves and lively Mediterranean charm. Having already won over the A&R of Kammer Music, Time Has Changed and Pour le Mérite, Oddvar is now joining the Sportclub team with a sparkling new 4-track EP called 'For Lovers'.
The EP opens with "Love Me". Commanding vocals ride a percussive house groove, asking you for one last dance on the beach. A taste of the summer, this track has the funk! “Without You” sounds sad, but on the contrary it's a fresh house tune that fascinates with tense strings and soulful melodies. If you've ever been there, you know what it's like to be a “Slave to the Bar”! In his homage to the Bar 25, Oddvar invokes
the same sonic spirit heard throughout the club when it’s in full swing. Last but not least there is “The Secret”, a collaboration between Oddvar and producer Jens Bond (who gained world wide fame with his releases on Pokerflat, Highgrade and Sender Records.) This track showers the good vibes across the club and massages your midsection with its deep bassline. Just how we like it!
'FOR LOVERS' FEEDBACK: DJ REACTIONS, RADIO REPORTS & PRESS
LUCIANO "Will play!"
HOT CHIP "Nice tracks!"
ELLEN ALLIEN "Love me is fun. Coolio, will play it!"
RUSSELL DEEKS [IDJ MAG] "A four-track EP of some rather pleasing house music. Slave To The Bar has slight nods to old skool Chicago, while Without You – the standout for me by far – has some nice organ sounds and a kind of leftfield garage feel. Love Me and (Jens Bond collab) The Secret, meanwhile, are just nice looping club grooves."
PRESIDENT BONGO/GUS GUS "Oddvar and Jens Bond! The Secret is safe!"
AUDIOFLY "Great EP, we like all the tracks here!"
MARCO RESMANN "Well done Oddvar, very cool 4 tracker. Full support!"

PAUL HAMILL [BBC RADIO ULSTER] "Really nice old skool flavas that'll work well on many a dancefloor."
PHILIP SHERBURNE [PITCHFORK/THE WIRE/XLR8R] "I like the disco/classic house feel of Without You, those vox are really nice. The Secret is dope too."
