Ye Olde Sporting Tymes's Interests
|
| General | Joel "Chuckles" Anderson: Joel has the interesting dichotomy of being born and raised a diehard Michigan State fan and then, despite his long hatred of the institution, proceeded to attend the University of Michigan. Don't ask him about it unless you're prepared for a long argument. Which is true for most topics.
ALL TIME RECORD: 23-19
Mike "Mike" Mannino: Mike grew up in Metro Detroit and is our resident expert on pro-basketball. A long time Pistons fan (his creds include the period between the Bad Boys and Big Ben, so no fairweather fan here), he's more recently become a football fan following the Lions and, to some degree, his alma mater University of Michigan (see his collumn on college sports, however).
ALL TIME RECORD: 24-18
Mike "Big Red" Nelson: Mike grew up in Okemos, MI and went to Michigan State where he developed a deep love for all Detroit and Michigan State sports. Mike studies physical training and has worked on the sideline for MSU football and interned this last summer with the Lansing Lugnuts (ask him about his funny story about the practical joke the manager played on him, it's good.) Mike knows pretty much all there is to know about all of the four major sports so he's our resident bull shit caller across the board.
ALL TIME RECORD: 27-17
Jordan "Changeup" Pommaville: Jordan is a student at the University of Michigan where he's studying funny. Jordan has been an avid fan of Michigan Football and the Detroit Tigers since he could crawl. While he's not as savy in other realms, he knows about as much as there is to know about baseball, college football, and the history of both.
ALL TIME RECORD: 26-16
Joel "Moose" Haas: Joel Haas is, also, a graduate of the University of Michigan. A lifetime Tigers fan, he's a valued member of our Kangaroo Court, and can speak intelligently about any piece of Tigers history you want to hear about. At length. He's also not a big fan of prognosticating, and subsequently has made a single pick for this website, ever. He was wrong.
ALL TIME RECORD: 10-34
Paul "The Bear" Malewitz: Paul Malewitz is also a Michigan alum and is quite the funny person. Growing up in Jackson, he's as loyal a fan of Detroit sports as any you'll find and if you're looking for a discusion about who looks good on the Oneota Tigers (Detroit Single-A affiliate) then you're in luck!
ALL TIME RECORD: 6-22
Other Contributors:
Craig Gaynier: Craig wasn't invited to the original crew of six, which can only be viewed as an oversite on our part. Craig provides us with solid writing and an excellent perspective on things that we value deeply. Also, along with Mannino, he's a tremendous fan of Professional Wrestling and, despite the protestations of certain members of the site, plans on producing a few collumns on the WWE and, knock on wood, may even be able to turn in a piece on his trip to see Wrestlemania in Detroit this year.
ALL TIME RECORD:
Phil Ranta: Phil is not a sports fan. He is, however, the friend of several rabid sports fans and finds himself listening to us talk about it anyway. That being the case, Phil should provide a comical, outsiders' perspective on sports and their cultural significance. To boot, Phil's picks, based on his own complete lack of sports knowledge, should be humbling for the rest of us.
ALL TIME RECORD:
Greg "Big Irish" Tonner: Greg Tonner has never seen this site, to my knowledge, but he's the only guy who really knows much about boxing, so hopefully we can coerce him into writing a couple collumns for us. Greg is also a Raiders fan, so there's that too.

Ye Olde Sporting Tymes's Blurbs |
About me:
Ye Olde Sporting Tymes is a group of sports fans that discuss all the sports news of the day - or at least all the news we care about.
It's also home to the Kangaroo Court of Baseball, where we render final and binding decisions on major sports debates.
We hope that you will find this page to be insightful and groundbreaking in its sterling analysis - hopefully to the point where you can't possibly form your own opinion before you've heard our take on the issues. We will, however, settle for mildly amusing you.
