Spred The Dub is a collection of individuals, each unique member adding their own style to the group, with the shared idea that music can change the world and the belief that music and love are languages everyone on this planet can understand...no matter where you're from. South Florida's own...Mickey Vintage puts his heart and soul into each performance as the voice and backbeat of Spred the Dub.
Johnny Fresh, from Syracuse, NY, applies funky syncopated rhythms to deep rootsy reggae grooves creating a rock solid foundation to build on. Well-versed in dub effects, Boris Fingermon, from Israel, applies them intuitively to sweet melodies and rootsy dead-picking riffs. New family member, KJo also from So Fla, drops thick, soul-shaking bass riddims right into place completing the body of sound that is Spred The Dub. Together these players gel into one of the freshest sounds in reggae.
Based in reggae "dub" music, a form of reggae which emerged in the late '60s early 70's, their sound is an eclectic mash up of grooves too hard to specifically categorize. A machine that effortlessly incorporates elements of jazz, funk, soul and good old rock n' roll producing sonic soundscapes that reflect the cultural melting pot in which they reside.
Spred The Dub's live shows aim to provide audiences with an authentic and unique reggae experience. STD's sound is constantly evolving due to the fact that they insist on having new, fresh material for their listeners to enjoy.
Their set list includes a host of well crafted original songs ranging from upbeat dance rhythms to thick, soul moving roots grooves that sit well with off the cuff improvisations, modified renditions of modern classics, and rejuvenated reggae standards.
