My debut album, Green, features me, Spud, on a variety of instruments such as Drums, Piano, Accordian, Acoustic Guitar, Organ, Dinner Triangle, Kitchen Skillets, and Vocals.
Instead of playing everything (because really I can't), I employed some of San Diego's favorite talents; Dave Howard on Electric Guitars, THE Marcia Claire on Bass Guitar & Vocals, Anilh Rameshwar on Trumpet & Piano on the Title Track, and Cathryn Beeks & Astra Kelly on Backing Vocals.
The album was done at BigRock Studios, Escondido, CA with the help of the incredibly talented Andy Machin.
If you like the left-of-center writing styles of Warren Zevon and Randy Newman with a voice more like Steve Earle, try me...

Influences
All the great and off-center singer /songwriter / composers of the last half century:
from Chuck Berry and Little Richard to John Lennon and Ray Davies, from Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle to Frank Zappa and Trent Reznor. If it's fresh and exciting, I will be influenced. At least to buy more records.
And I love System of a Down. Any Band who can combine Dead Kennedys-Frank Zappa-Metallica is OK with me...

Yeah, we are slowly working through another album. I have a good feeling about this one. We are so close to wrapping it up. But damn it, my dad came in town last week. He loved three of the songs (one he thinks is the best that we ever done) The other three he thinks are garbage. I trust his opinion very much.
Upon reflection god damn it, he is right! Don't you hate when people are right! Ha, you want to help me brighten a few up? I could use your song writing mind. My back is on a wall. I'll supply the beer.
