the main purpose of spule04 is to find out, how its idols John Carpenter, Alan Howarth, Kraftwerk and also sound designers Ben Burtt and Walter Murch have created their art. spule04 is also influenced by early techno-/chill-out acts like LFO, Tricky Disco, Future Sound Of London, The Orb, Biosphere etc. spule04’s music is based on its fascination of movies, their soundtracks and the creating of their sounds effects. motion pictures play an important role in spule04’s life, and therefore the heavy use of movie-samples is part of the art of spule04. they were not used only to sound cool with some fancy speeches. spule04 is very well aware of the boring use of samples from famous movies in Industrial- and EBM-Songs. to understand spule04 it is important to know, that the moving picture and sound – not neccessarily music – plays an important role in spule04’s art and is also a major influence in its life. any similarity to existing music is no coincidence and fully intended.
spule04 understands itself not as a mock-up of its originators, but as an experiment to understand, how and why their art works. the further goal is the process of creating sounds, not mainly the end product. also, spule04 is not addicted to a certain style of music, only to electronic itself. in the playlist you can get an idea of my wide range of interest.
