Graham Greene. Duran Duran. Tove Jansson. Bjork. These are the only four artists whose work I have ever read or heard at the moment. I can't remember exactly what they all do.... but I remember thinking they were good.
Founded in 2006, Esme Squalor and the Decadents has been based variously in Manchester, England; London, England; and now in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, where we have both performed at and hosted innumerate events.
Our rotating membership is drawn from the UK and from Spain, and we produce original, contemporary music, using whatever we can force to make a sound.
We like samples and loops. We like ukuleles. We like violins if we can play them. We like singing slightly too high. We like things that make noises when you hit them or blow into them. We usually turn the bass up too loud.
We are making an album in a cupboard at the moment, samples of which you can hear on this very page, and which you will be able to buy from September.
We also include a complete medical history of Esme Squalor below, so you can retain some piece of mind as to our continued health and good spirit.

One filling in milk tooth. Fairly comprehensive orthodontic work, lasting three years. Fractured little finger. Two weeks in hospital with a leg infection, caused by being kicked. Probable broken ribs, a scarred back, and a broken wrist due to collision with coach. Consequent operation on wrist, involving metal plates inserted. One more filling. Dermatological scalp infection (now cured). Some signs of bad posture. Reflexes; reflexive. Blood pressure; pressurized. General health; good (though subject to delays.)

Un empaste en un diente de leche. Tratamiento ortodóncico intensivo durante tres años. Fractura del dedo meñique. Dos semanas en el hospital con una infección en la pierna, debido a una patada mal dada. Costillas rotas, espalda marcada con cicatrices y una muñeca rota a causa de una colisión de su bicicleta con un autobús. Una consiguiente operación en la muñeca, conllevando la inserción de unos trozos de metal en función de mantener su estructura original. Otro empaste. Infección dermatológica del cuero cabelludo (ya curado!). Señales de mala postura. Buenos reflejos. Tensión arterial alta. Buena salud en general.
