"The band’s pre-release single Jesus Ain’t My Boyfriend is testament to the group’s untapped talent...high energy, catchy, hook ridden..." www.musicsa.com.au
Squeaker was formed in 2002 by Steve Staben (AKA Squeaky), a songwriter and frustrated guitarist trapped in a drummer’s body. Initially being a songwriting outlet for Steve, the band began as an 8 person line-up gradually morphed into what it is today.
In 2007 Squeaker launched their controversial yet well recieved pre-release single ‘Jesus Ain’t My Boyfriend’, with their sound being likened to acts such as Garbage and Rogue Traders. In the same year their song ‘Reason’, engineered and produced by Dave Ross, won ‘Best Production’ in the Open Master category of SCALA’s FOOM 2007 Awards, they were chosen as a Hottest Pick in the internet based Toohey’s Extra Dry Uncharted Band Competition run by Sony BMG, and played a grand final performance in the Pure Blonde Winter Rock Wars Battle of the Bands.
In 2008 ‘Jesus Ain’t My Boyfriend’ was included on the Foghorn Records’ national compilation CD ‘Grow Your Own Upload Volume 2’ leading to a full house showcase gig with fellow SA inclusions Illicit Eve at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, and a Sydney showcase tour. In April Squeaker took first prize in the Cavern Club & Cecere's Battle Of The Bands Grand Final.
In 2009 the band has been enjoying full rooms in Adelaide and continues to work on their new recording project due to be completed later this year.

That sounds about right. Hit us up when the tunes are done!
We've played a couple licenced venues here. They're all pretty chill with the ages, as long as we're in the band. It's just harder for us to get our mates in.
thanks heaps for having a listen! Most of us are post-pubescent, ranging from 16-19 years right now.
Your tunes are sassy. True fact: I've actually got a random CD of yours, which i have no recollection of how i got, but it's got some of your demo versions of songs on it.
Hey Steve, I hope you staying cool down your way. Methinks the heatwave is headed towards us in the next cupla days. I'm just dropping in to let you know that the band will be back in Adelaide on Sun 28th Nov at The Wheaty. Come on down if you are keen. If you could help spread the word it would be much appreciated.
Matt Reiner will do a set from 4pm and we will hit the stage at 5.50pm.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
