My name is James Schumacher. I am a Recording Engineer and Producer living and working in the Los Angeles area. I am a graduate of the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (CRAS) in Phoenix Arizona. I got my start at the world renowned Cherokee Recording Studios were in just under 2 years I rose from the position of runner to Engineer to Studio Manager before they closed there doors at the end of 2007. A lot was learned under the tutelage of The Robb Brothers, owners of Cherokee and successful producers in there own right. Unlike most producers and engineers today, the experience of cutting ones teeth in one of the most highly regarded studios with some of the most sought after and revered gear was invaluable. Since the closing of Cherokee I have been working as a freelance Engineer at various studios in the LA area.
